Flying Taxis Also Known As eVTOLs May Be The Next Big Thing When It Comes To Transportation In Large Cities
One of the most problematic aspects of life in a big city is the traffic generated by the large number of cars on the roads. But this problem may be coming to an end, as flying taxis could be the solution, at least according to major aviation companies.
The aviation industry in the United States, for example, is researching how it would be possible to implement an air transportation mode capable of traveling quickly between and among nearby cities. Soon, we may see flying taxis in operation, at least in major metropolitan areas.
Flying taxis are a type of electric aircraft capable of taking off and landing vertically and are classified as VTOL transportation, which is a category of electric flying transportation. According to the BBC, this innovative mode of transportation is an essential step for companies as a way to ease traffic congestion in cities.

A common practice in traffic can be costly: using the hazard lights incorrectly can result in fines, points on your driver’s license, and even towing of the vehicle.
The proliferation of large cities and the increase in the number of cars have led to a rise in the frequency of disruptions caused by traffic jams. And since time is money in a capitalist economy, many entrepreneurs are investing in this new flying taxi technology, which is being hailed as the transportation of the future.
eVTOLs are considered environmentally friendly transportation modes due to the use of electric motors, combined with highly efficient batteries, which produce much less noise and significantly contribute to less pollution in the environment.
The use of these flying taxis, as a means of transporting people and goods, is advocated by industry experts on the grounds that, in their opinion, it will help reduce car traffic and its associated problems on the roads.
Flying Taxis Are The New Bet Where The World’s Aviation Companies Are Investing Their Money
There is already a movement among the aviation industries of major nations to introduce the concept of flying taxis in European cities by the year 2024. Before the start of the Summer Olympics in Paris, France, the efficient and eco-friendly mode of transportation is expected to be operational, according to the plans of major corporations.
However, to achieve this goal, the Federal Aviation Administration will need to conduct an analysis of the requirements that eVTOL pilots must meet to obtain a license.
The airlines Gol and Azul are the most technologically advanced companies in Brazil, capable of implementing the flying taxi concept. These two companies have reached an agreement in which each will acquire its first electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicle (eVTOL) by the year 2025. Embraer plans to start delivering its variants of this vehicle from the year 2026.
