The Two Complexes with Wind Farms Will Be Installed by Carnaúbal Electric Companies in the Municipalities of Ibitiara and Novo Horizonte in Bahia
Bahia will have more investments in renewable energy, and in the coming months, two more complexes with wild farms will be built in the state. During the construction of the parks, in addition to the expansion of two other industrial units, it is expected that around R$ 2 billion will be invested in the municipalities of Ibitiara and Novo Horizonte. The funds come 100% from private companies.
The Secretary of Economic Development (SDE) oversaw the signing of Letters of Intent with the Government of the State of Bahia last week. The forecast is that around a thousand job opportunities will be made available in the areas of the wind farms. The investments will be of utmost importance for the economic development of the region.
The wind complexes in Bahia will be built by Carnaúbal Electric Companies (CEC), and will be located in the municipalities of Ibitiara and Novo Horizonte. According to Carla Gonçalves, Legal Director of CEC, this celebration marks a significant advance in the continuity of the company’s development plan, which has been operating in the region for many years, in addition to expanding the benefits that will be brought to the local community, specifically in terms of job and income opportunities.

While hydroelectric plants lose capacity due to evaporation caused by heat in the reservoirs, the Philippines are installing floating solar panels on the plants’ own lakes, generating energy, reducing evaporation by up to 70%, and cooling the panels to increase electrical efficiency at the same time.

Dongfang breaks world record and manufactures 26 MW wind turbine in China with 137-meter blades that spin so slowly they appear stationary on the horizon.
“It is worth noting that CEC is a company of the economic group CER, which has already implemented more than 350MW of wind energy projects in the State of Bahia, and remains firm in its purpose to develop new renewable energy projects,” said Carla Gonçalves.
Beyond Renewable Energy, Bahia Has Investments in Several Other Sectors
According to the Secretary of Economic Development of Bahia, José Nunes, between the months of January and September, 124 Letters of Intent for investments were signed with the Government of Bahia, among which are the wind complexes. A total of R$ 38 billion in private investments is expected as a result of these agreements.
According to the Secretary, the installation of 39 of these enterprises so far has resulted in investments of R$ 1.7 billion and the creation of more than 5,000 jobs in various municipalities in Bahia. Along with the signed protocols, the implementation of two wind farms will happen soon. It is essential to highlight the fact that Brazil is now considered globally one of the main places in the world for the production of renewable energy, such as wind, solar, and biomass. Bahia is one of the states with the greatest potential for all these different types of renewable energy sources in the country.
Bahia Is a National Leader in Wind and Solar Energy Generation
In May of this year 2022, Bahia once again became the national leader in wind energy generation with 32.16% of production, and in solar energy, with 30.89%. According to SDE, the potential for wind energy production is impacted by various elements, including seasonality, climate, vegetation, and topographical characteristics.
In the state of Bahia, there are already 227 wind farms in operation with a total installed capacity of 5.9 GW. These wind farms required an investment of R$ 23 billion and resulted in the generation of more than 89,000 jobs just during the construction phase.
