Sigma Will Allocate Resources From Lithium Extraction For Investments In The Jequitinhonha Region Over The Next 13 Years

The municipalities of Araçuaí and Itinga, located in the Jequitinhonha Valley, will receive an investment exceeding R$ 1 billion over the next 13 years, thanks to the lithium extraction carried out by the mining company Sigma. The Canadian company will allocate part of the annual royalties paid by law, known as CFEM (Financial Compensation for Mineral Exploration), to the newly launched Instituto Lítio Verde.

In addition, Sigma will contribute an extra amount, corresponding to 1% of the annual royalties, taken from shareholders’ dividends. These resources will be managed and reinvested by the Institute in social projects in the Jequitinhonha Valley, driving development for many years.

The Instituto Lítio Verde will adopt a sustainable investment model, similar to the concept of passive income. The financial resources will be saved and reinvested, and the generated returns will be applied to social projects in the Jequitinhonha Valley. This investment model aims to ensure that resources are used continuously and sustainably, benefiting the local community.
