Disclosure: SSAB

Event takes place from April 23rd to 26th, at São Paulo Expo

SSAB, a Swedish multinational world leader in the manufacture of high-strength steels, will be among the exhibitors at the 12th edition of M&T Expo – International Fair of Machinery and Equipment for Construction and Mining – which takes place between the 23rd and 26th of April in São Paulo Expo, in the capital of São Paulo. The Swedish company's biggest highlight is Hardox® 500 Tuf steel.

The product offers very high abrasion resistance of 500 Brinell, exceptional resistance to crack propagation and mechanical properties, all in the same steel sheet. The material technology also has excellent processing properties, such as weldability, forming and cutting capacity, a trademark of SSAB products.

The new generation of Hardox® anti-wear plates for dump trucks demonstrates their benefits through the “super light” bucket developed in partnership with CBMM and Rossetti Equipamentos Rodoviários. With two and a half tons less, the equipment became lighter and more efficient, resulting in greater load capacity, reduced maintenance stops and CO2 emissions. Furthermore, the product provides greater durability and spacing between maintenance intervals and greater productivity, taking advantage of the payload maximum of trucks.

According to Lisandro Peliciolli, General Sales Manager at SSAB South America – Atlantic, Hardox® 500 Tuf is one of the main promises for mining and construction equipment. “The result we achieved with this steel was only possible due to the exclusive combination of structural properties and resistance to wear and crack propagation, which makes it a unique product on the market. There is a substantial gain in wear resistance throughout the bucket and the need for additional support structures and reinforcements is practically eliminated, which contributes considerably to reducing the implement's weight.''

“The end user benefits both from increased productivity with a greater payload in each operational cycle, and from reduced operational and maintenance costs, as, in practice, the bucket becomes much lighter and more resistant”, adds the executive.

SSAB is the only steel mill operating in Brazil that has a local technical team, available to assist its customers in all steps of the loading and transport implement upgrade project. Hardox® 500 Tuf, which will be the company's highlight at M&T Expo 2024, is now available in SSAB Brasil stocks for immediate delivery.
