SSM Brazil Plans to Install a New Factory in Pernambuco Due to Its Expansion into Other Markets. The Unit Will Create About 1,200 Jobs.
SSM Brazil, which operates in the steel and aluminum sector, recently announced the installation of a new factory in the city of Canhotinho, in the Agreste region of Pernambuco. It is expected that the new venture will bring about 800 to 1,200 direct and indirect job opportunities to the region.
New Factory in Pernambuco Will Be Ready by Mid-2024
Currently, SSM Brazil has two plants, one in Jaboatão dos Guararapes and another in São José dos Pinhais, in Paraná. The new front comes on the heels of the beginning of operations for steel and aluminum export to Europe and North America, starting from the Port of Suape.
The announcement was made this Tuesday (8), at the Palácio do Campo das Princesas, during a meeting between SSM Brazil CEO Bebiano and Governor Raquel Lyra (PSDB). Also present were the President of the State Assembly of Pernambuco (Alepe), State Deputy Álvaro Porto (PSDB), a native of Canhotinho, and the city mayor, Sandra Paes.

Goodbye, Brazil: Brazilians claim to be ‘oppressed’ and head to Paraguay in search of a ‘right-wing dream’ with 10% taxes, energy up to 2.8 times cheaper, and 23,500 residency applications in 2025.

The expectation is that the new factory, which will create thousands of jobs, will be ready in the second half of 2024. According to SSM Brazil CEO Carlos Bebiano, the company will expand its production capacity and serve the two new markets it has entered: Europe and the United States, which it will start serving in 2025, through the Port of Suape.
Thus, SSM Brazil will produce steel and aluminum in Canhotinho, send it through the Port, and distribute it throughout Europe and the US. SSM manufactures structure and framing to fix solar panels, through aluminum extrusion and steel processing.
Pernambuco Can Return to Being a Leader in the Segment
Currently, the company generates about 351 direct job opportunities and around 4,000 indirect job opportunities in the state. According to the management, the strategy is to maintain the Jaboatão dos Guararapes unit until the new Canhotinho factory is ready to receive all machinery, and from then on, transfer aluminum production and the steel line production.
According to Carlos Bebiano, the expectations were presented to Governor Raquel Lyra and were very well received, as the governor welcomed the new factory and celebrated the creation of jobs and income.
According to Raquel Lyra, initiatives are being taken so that Pernambuco can become a leader in the Northeast again, and this resurgence involves more investments and greater presence of companies in the State. Furthermore, this expansion corresponds to a very important agenda not only for the state but for the entire country, which is clean and renewable energy.
