The New Jeep Compass e-Hybrid Is Behind Some Talented Rivals in the Company’s SUV Class, but It Still Has Its Charms Thanks to Its Economical Mode That Achieves 52km/L
Jeep announced the launch of its SUV Compass 4XE for June this year in Brazil, which is a plug-in hybrid, featuring the same powertrain used in the Renegade 4XE, launched last year. Stellantis promises it uses a 1.3-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor, offering a combined power of 240 hp.

Key Features of the Jeep Hybrid Compass
Manufacturer Stellantis highlights that all-wheel drive is achieved by installing the electric motor on the rear axle, while the gasoline engine powers the front wheels.
The 11.4 kWh battery can provide a zero-emission range of about 50 km – placing it within the range of an 11% benefit in kind – although the electric motor’s power of 60 hp means that the EV mode performance is somewhat lacking when compared to other plug-in hybrid SUVs. Jeep also offers the Compass with a non-hybrid 1.3-liter gasoline engine and front-wheel drive, with 152 g/km.

Modern and Compact, Stellantis’ Jeep Compass Hybrid Promises to Shake Up the SUV Market in Brazil
One aspect of the Compass that has always worked in its favor is its rugged style. Fortunately, the exterior of the new model has hardly changed. In typical Jeep fashion, there are many references to previous models, such as the square wheel arches and the distinctive front grille. The interior, however, has been completely redesigned.
The new Jeep hybrid from Stellantis has a much more modern, technological cabin with a premium feel, filled with cutting-edge technology. It is equipped with a 10.1-inch central touchscreen and everything the market has to offer. The vehicle features a digital instrument panel that offers a high degree of customization. A series of switches and buttons complement the touchscreen, providing quick access to main functions.
The latest infotainment system from Jeep offers a more agile user experience than before, with an easy-to-use menu structure and high-resolution graphics. It incorporates a new voice control system using Amazon Alexa, while satellite navigation is provided by TomTom.
Stellantis Promises the Jeep Compass Will Be One of the Quietest Models on the Market
The Compass 4XE is comfortable and refined when you hit the road. There is little wind or engine noise on the road, contributing to a relaxing ride, and the suspension handles bumps well. It is not a particularly sporty unit.
The gasoline engine is reportedly quiet when running, according to the manufacturer. The price starts at £39,895 for the Compass 4XE in the off-road-focused Trailhawk trim.
The more luxurious S model can be purchased for £40,895. The non-hybrid versions cost £10,000 less. The forecast is that the vehicle will hit the Brazilian market priced around R$220,000.
