Eternit’s Solar Roof Tiles Innovation Delights Consumers Who Have Always Dreamed of Having Solar Energy at Home
Eternit, a solar energy company, launched solar roof tiles that have already been approved by the Inmetro and will soon start being sold in Brazil. The company estimates that the solar roof tiles will be available on the market starting in the second quarter of 2021.
Knowing that most Brazilians have at some point in their lives dreamed of having solar energy at home, especially as the cost of electricity in Brazil has been steadily rising over the years, and does nothing to help the environment, unlike solar energy, which is a renewable energy source, Eternit decided to tackle this problem.

Every time a river flows into the sea, an amount of energy equivalent to a 120-meter waterfall is silently wasted, but Japan has just inaugurated the world’s first power plant that captures this waste and transforms it into electricity 24 hours a day without sun, wind, or fuel.

Fortescue announces a radical shift by replacing diesel with a system featuring 1.2 GW of solar energy, 600 MW of wind energy, and up to 5 GWh in batteries, a giant project that could save $100 million per year and transform heavy mining into one of the largest 100% renewable operations in the world by 2028.
The solar roof tiles measure 365 x 475 mm, being able to produce up to 1.15 kWh/month, with a durability of 20 years.
However, in the first years of use, Eternit guarantees that the consumer will feel a positive return on their investment. In other words, in addition to recovering the investment, the consumer will go 15 to 17 years without paying for this energy.
The Question That Won’t Go Away: Can Energy Be Used at Night?
Of course! During the day, the tiles will supply the electrical grid to ensure that at night, the electrical grid will provide the energy.
Another benefit is that the solar tiles promoted by Eternit will be of the same model as a conventional tile, allowing for easy replacement of existing tiles, or part of them.
