Light at the End of the Tunnel: SESI Lab Promotes Film Screenings
With the inauguration of the SESI Lab in November 2022, Brasília gained a 100% interactive space with free entry, a 6.1 sound system, and digital projection. The SESI Lab tunnel is a place designed for all ages, featuring a diverse program that includes screenings of short and feature films, as well as theatrical performances. During school holidays, the venue will host the ‘Cine Curtas’ project, with screenings on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 5 PM.
The cinematic programming in the tunnel is curated by Glauce Pena Santos, along with the museum’s Cultural Programming team. Among the attractions are Pixar animations, the Brazilian series ‘Anima Criança: Lendas Brasileiras’, and the feature film ‘Minhocas’, the first stop motion film made in Brazil. Furthermore, the space will host theatrical performances and music presentations by the Brasília Ska Jazz Club on Saturday and Sunday mornings at 11 AM.
Interactive Workshops and Exploration of the Exhibition Galleries
Interactive workshops will be held on Fridays at 11 AM and 4 PM, as well as on Saturdays and Sundays at different times. Activities such as ‘Virtual Butterfly Garden’, ‘Tones of Self’, ‘Ecodesign’, ‘Light Painting: Painting with Light’, ‘Playing with Puppets’, ‘Creating Fungi and Bacteria’, ‘Building Circuits with Modeling Clay’, among others. In addition, visitors can participate in exploration activities in the exhibition galleries and games that will occur from Friday to Sunday, always at 3 PM.
The tickets to participate in the activities will be distributed 30 minutes before each start at the information desk located at the museum’s main entrance.
A New Concept of Interactive Museum: SESI Lab
Since its inauguration, over 248 thousand visitors have experienced the 100% interactive space, which has become a reference in Brasília. The SESI Lab believes in the connection between artistic, scientific, and technological actions, in collaboration with industry and society. With around 8 thousand square meters dedicated to exhibition, creative, and maker spaces, interdisciplinary rooms, and an 84 square meter LED panel, the museum offers unique and educational experiences for all ages. Additionally, it features 33 thousand square meters of green area revitalized in partnership with the government of the Federal District, interactive installations, and an outdoor amphitheater for shows, events, and other cultural activities.
