Challenge Puts Two 300cc Motorcycles in Identical Test to See Which One Runs More. Result Revealed Honda’s Advantage in Efficiency.
Two 300cc motorcycles were put side by side in a consumption challenge on the channel Cars with Tiago. On one side, the Yamaha MT-03. On the other, the Honda CB Twister F 300.
Both started the test with completely empty tanks. The objective was simple: to find out which one would cover more kilometers with just 2 liters of gasoline.
Before starting, the trip meters of the motorcycles were reset. This ensured that the measurement was accurate, recording exactly the distance traveled with the provided fuel.

Peugeot publicly acknowledged the errors of the PureTech engine, which caused serious failures in hundreds of thousands of cars, and introduced the new Turbo 100 as a definitive solution, a 1.2 turbo tested for over 3 million kilometers that replaces the faulty belt with a more durable chain.

Automatic cars become ‘cheap’ in Brazil, and models from Toyota, Hyundai, Nissan, and Honda appear for R$ 65,000 with up to 120 hp, CVT transmission, 482 liters of trunk space, keyless entry, and six airbags to tackle traffic without a clutch.

Without relying on an outlet, without a cable, and without the gasoline engine driving the wheels: Nissan created the Note e-POWER, a hatchback that always runs on an electric motor while a combustion engine works only as a generator, delivering to Japan a type of “electric without recharging” that Brazil is almost unfamiliar with.
Preparation of the Motorcycles and Comparison Criteria
In preparation for the test, each motorcycle received the same 2 liters of gasoline. The riding would be at cruising speed, between 100 and 120 km/h, simulating common road use.
The idea was to understand which motorcycle could be more efficient under normal riding conditions.
An important difference between the motorcycles lies in the engine. The MT-03 is equipped with two cylinders (“two pots”), which typically delivers more performance.
In contrast, the CB Twister features only one cylinder. This difference could directly influence the test results.
Moreover, the MT-03 is known for delivering more torque and horsepower. However, these qualities can, in some cases, also increase fuel consumption.
Therefore, the curiosity lay in whether Yamaha’s extra power would justify a higher expenditure, or if Honda’s simplicity would be more efficient.
MT-03 Result: Good Average, But Higher Consumption
The Yamaha MT-03 test was the first to conclude. The motorcycle covered 51.6 kilometers with the 2 liters of gasoline. This represents an average consumption of 25.5 km per liter.
Although not a bad result for a 300cc sportbike, the performance fell short of expectations for those seeking maximum efficiency.
Still, the rider emphasized that the average was quite interesting, considering the style and purpose of the motorcycle.
The most important thing was to observe that the test maintained the established standard. The route and speed were the same for both motorcycles.
The rider also reinforced that in more aggressive usage situations, such as maximum acceleration, the MT-03 could end up delivering only 10 km per liter.
Twister Surprises and Reaches Almost 60 km with 2 Liters
In the Honda CB Twister F 300 test, the surprise was even greater.
The motorcycle managed to cover nearly 60 kilometers with the same 2 liters of gasoline. As a result, the average was around 30 km per liter.
This performance positions the Twister as more economical between the two, with an advantage of 4.5 km per liter over its rival.
For a motorcycle in the same category, this difference is significant, especially for those who use the vehicle daily and want to save on refueling.
At the end of the journey, the CB Twister also ran out of fuel, concluding the test under the same conditions as the MT-03.
Comparative Conclusion: Economy or Performance?
The test revealed that the Honda CB Twister 300 is more economical than the Yamaha MT-03 in highway use at constant speed.
The difference in consumption may seem small in absolute numbers, but it becomes relevant when evaluated in day-to-day use, especially for those covering long distances.
Therefore, for those seeking economy, the Twister proved to be the better choice. For those who prefer a motorcycle with more performance, even with a bit more consumption, the MT-03 remains a strong option.
The most important thing is that both models deliver good results within their proposals. While one prioritizes efficiency, the other focuses on performance.
And this leaves consumers with good alternatives in the 300cc market.
