The academic calendar for 2026 receives an important boost with the opening of the selection process 2026.2 of the Fluminense Federal Institute (IFF). In total, the institution offers 877 spots aimed at those seeking excellence in education through completely free technical and higher education courses.

The opportunities cover various fields of knowledge and are distributed among the campuses of Campos Centro, Campos Guarus, Macaé, Cabo Frio, Quissamã, and São João da Barra.

Interested individuals have until May 7, 2026, to register online, ensuring the chance to study at one of the most respected educational networks in the country.

Schedule of exams and selection stages

To enter the IFF, candidates will undergo evaluations on June 14, 2026. In the morning, all registered candidates will take the objective test and the essay, which are eliminatory and classificatory stages.

Additionally, the Federal Institute requires an extra phase for specific degrees: candidates for the Graphic Design and Architecture and Urbanism courses must pass a Specific Aptitude/Skill Test, administered on the same day, in the afternoon (from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM).

Below, we list the main deadlines to ensure you don’t miss out:

Request for fee exemption: Must be made by April 24.

Final deadline for registrations: May 7, 2026.

Deadline for fee payment: May 8 (via PIX, card, or boleto).

Exams date: June 14, 2026.

To compete for the 332 higher education spots, it is necessary to have a high school completion certificate. The offered degrees include bachelor’s degrees, teaching degrees, and technologies.

At the Campos Centro campus, the highlight is on Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Computing, Control and Automation, and Environmental), in addition to Information Systems. In Macaé, the options for higher education courses focus on Electrical Engineering and Control and Automation.

Meanwhile, units like Cabo Frio offer Technology in Hospitality and Graphic Design. The registration fee for higher education is R$ 75.00.

It is worth noting that IFF also opens doors for those who wish to pursue a teaching career, with degrees in areas such as Mathematics, Language, Theater, Geography, Physical Education, Music, and Natural Sciences.

Professional Training: Technical courses and available vacancies

The largest portion of this selection process is allocated to technical courses, with 545 vacancies open. The target audience is students who have already completed high school or who are in their second year at other institutions.

The registration fee for this modality is R$ 30.00. The options are varied and aim to meet the demands of the regional market:

Campos Centro: Industrial and technological areas such as Industrial Automation, Construction, Electrotechnics, Roads, Computer Science, Mechanics, Chemistry, and Occupational Safety.
Campos Guarus: Focus on health and industry with Nursing, Pharmacy, and Electromechanics.
Quissamã and São João da Barra: Offering the Electromechanics course for local technical training.
