Schedule of exams and selection stages
To enter the IFF, candidates will undergo evaluations on June 14, 2026. In the morning, all registered candidates will take the objective test and the essay, which are eliminatory and classificatory stages.
Additionally, the Federal Institute requires an extra phase for specific degrees: candidates for the Graphic Design and Architecture and Urbanism courses must pass a Specific Aptitude/Skill Test, administered on the same day, in the afternoon (from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM).

Meanwhile, units like Cabo Frio offer Technology in Hospitality and Graphic Design. The registration fee for higher education is R$ 75.00.

The largest portion of this selection process is allocated to technical courses, with 545 vacancies open. The target audience is students who have already completed high school or who are in their second year at other institutions.
The registration fee for this modality is R$ 30.00. The options are varied and aim to meet the demands of the regional market:
- Campos Centro: Industrial and technological areas such as Industrial Automation, Construction, Electrotechnics, Roads, Computer Science, Mechanics, Chemistry, and Occupational Safety.
- Campos Guarus: Focus on health and industry with Nursing, Pharmacy, and Electromechanics.
- Quissamã and São João da Barra: Offering the Electromechanics course for local technical training.
