A cave in the United States, officially sealed by the federal government since January 1940, has returned to the spotlight after images showed a side passage still accessible, as well as spiral fossils, orange crystals, and indications of very ancient human presence inside
A cave in the United States has remained officially closed to entry by the federal government since January 1940, as indicated by a bas-relief inscription on a brick wall sealing part of the access. The site has drawn attention again after a video showed that, despite the blockage, there is still a side passage through which it is possible to enter.
Cave sealed since 1940
The visible inscription on the structure states: “Entry prohibited. Sealed by the Federal Government.” In the same marking, the numbers 25 and 6 appear, along with the date “1-1940” and the initials “WPA.”
The sealing of the cave draws attention for not being caused by a collapse or other natural obstacle. The blockage was made with masonry, in an intervention that indicates a formal prohibition of access to the interior.

Interior houses vestiges and fossils
Even with the area sealed, the video shows that there is an opening to the right of the wall that allows entry into the cave. Inside, explorers claim to have found signs of very ancient human occupation.
Among the objects shown is a carved stone, identified as a possible arrowhead or ancient spear tip. The material reinforces the historical interest of the site, although the exact location of the cave has not been disclosed.
Another highlight is the spiral-shaped fossils visible on several walls. The presence of these formations transforms the cave into an environment of strong paleontological interest.
Crystals, glow on the ceiling, and signs of risk
In addition to the fossils, the cave houses orange crystals and also two white spiders recorded in one of the images taken inside. The explorers also report that some ceilings glow, in an effect that, for them, cannot be explained solely by the visible water droplets.
In the United States, there are cases of caves closed in a similar manner due to the presence of toxic gases, uranium, or other harmful elements. Therefore, the existence of a cave with such an official blockage is often treated as a sign of danger, in addition to the historical and paleontological interest that the environment may present.
