It is undeniable that the Toyota Corolla dominates the mid-size sedans in Brazil. This model leads the segment, having achieved the mark of 10 thousand units sold from January to April of this year.

Toyota Corolla Sold 10,913 Units in Just 4 Months! No Other Model Matches the Numbers of the Corolla
According to Fenabrave, the total sales in the first four months of 2024 were 10,913 units. Even with the disorder that the entity presents in its ranking of mid-size and large sedans, no other model matches the numbers of the Corolla.

When considering all mid-size and large sedans sold in Brazil, which total 18,965 units, it is evident that, excluding the Corolla, there are only 8,052 vehicles left. Thus, not even the sum of 27 other cars reaches what the Corolla accomplishes with ease.
BYD Seal is the Second Most Sold Mid-Size Sedan in Brazil
In the rest of the ranking, there were significant changes. The BYD Seal, the second most sold mid-size sedan in the country, fell behind the Nissan Sentra in March and maintained its position in April.
Sales were 380 units for the Japanese Sentra and 283 for the Chinese electric Seal. In total, the Seal recorded 1,698 units sold, compared to 1,542 for the Sentra, with the gap narrowing each month. Following closely is the Volkswagen Jetta, with double the sales of the Honda Civic, which is fifth on the accumulated list.
It is worth noting that the VW Jetta, with its sport version GLI, managed to double the sales of the Honda Civic hybrid, which has a similar price. Meanwhile, the Chevrolet Cruze survives with the remaining stock, recording 116 units in April.
