Company Develops Electric Tricycle for Cargo Transport with High Autonomy and Capacity of Up to 350 kg, the Model is Named Yakbike.
The Yakbike is an electric tricycle that stands out for using an electric motor designed to transport heavy loads in its rear. The vehicle’s battery system is powerful enough to allow deliveries with a range of up to 150 km, at a maximum speed of 25 km/h.
Electric Tricycle Can Transport Up to 350 kg of Cargo
The Yakbike is a tricycle developed with an electric motor focused on assisting those who need to carry heavy loads. The model uses an electric motor with a torque of just over 17 kgfm and promises to carry up to 350 kg of cargo in its rear.
The electric tricycle’s system uses one or two batteries, which when combined deliver up to 150 km of autonomy on a single charge. The rear can have various shapes, such as a pickup or include a roof to carry larger and more fragile products.

The electric tricycle adds an extra wheel, and the setup is focused on cargo transport, promising to assist in pedaling for those needing to carry a huge pallet, without much effort in their legs.
The ability to deliver force for pedaling with greater duration is reinforced by a regenerative braking system, like in electric cars.
Vehicle Will Cost Around R$ 56,5 Thousand
The electric tricycle uses its own motor to slow down the tricycle, generating charge in the process and replenishing part of the electrons used by the battery. In comparison, this type of brake accounts for 40% of all energy used during a Formula E race, the Formula 1 with electric cars.
Since the support of the electric tricycle rests on the two rear wheels, it allows the front part to turn sideways without tipping the load, enabling maneuvering and tighter turns. The whole vehicle system weighs about 70 kilograms, and the Yakbike promises to carry up to 350 kg of cargo at a maximum speed of 25 km/h.
Prices are not cheap, starting at 9,990 Swiss Francs for the rear part resembling a pickup. In direct conversion, it would be around R$ 56,5 thousand and this price varies according to the type of rear support for cargo, which can be larger and for other purposes.
Other Electric Tricycle Models Available in the Market
The company Zeway, which is committed to strengthening itself in very busy categories, such as electric scooters and mopeds, two or three-wheeled vehicles capable of reaching only up to 50 km per hour of maximum speed.
Zeway has partnered with commercial establishments in Paris and other areas near the French capital to provide a network of approximately 40 electric vehicle charging stations.
However, the current highlight is its creation: the SwapperTriango+ electric tricycle. This tricycle is very easy to maneuver, in addition to being a more stable model, unlike conventional motorcycles. The model features a 5 kW electric motor and has a power equivalent to 125 cc, quite similar to the Biz and Honda models.
