São Paulo Plant is the First Project in the BNDES RenovaBio Program
The BNDES RenovaBio program involves financial credit aligned with ESG criteria (which considers environmental, social, and corporate governance aspects), aimed at stimulating the reduction of carbon emissions (in plants, for example) through the use of fuels. The financial support from the National Bank for Economic and Social Development in this line is part of the RenovaBio program from the MME – Ministry of Mines and Energy.
The BNDES financing will support the company’s efforts to improve its efficiency, and if successful in this task, BNDES will reward it with reductions in the loan cost (in BNDES’s basic spread). If the company is disqualified from the RenovaBio Program, it will face penalties in the form of increased rates.
