Special version of the Volkswagen Nivus combines turbo engine, automatic transmission, spacious trunk, and advanced safety package in a price range contested among used SUVs, with equipment that remains relevant years after the commercial debut in Brazil.

The Volkswagen Nivus Launching Edition appears among used SUVs in the range of R$ 100,000 with a turbo engine, automatic transmission, 415-liter trunk, and safety package that includes electronic driver assistance.

In the FIPE Table of June 2026, the 2021 version is quoted at R$ 103,729, according to a consultation published by Chaves na Mão for the FIPE code 005524-7.

Created to mark the commercial debut of the Nivus in Brazil, the Launching Edition configuration appears in market records as a special option linked to the first model years of Volkswagen’s SUV-coupe.

After this period, the name Launching Edition ceased to be part of the regular lineup, while the mechanical set and the list of equipment continued to be present as comparison factors in the used market.

Nivus Launching Edition combines 1.0 turbo engine and automatic transmission

Under the hood, the Nivus Launching Edition uses the 1.0 200 TSI flex engine, with three cylinders, direct fuel injection, and turbocharger.

The technical sheet from Volkswagen reports a power of 116 hp with gasoline and 128 hp with ethanol, always at 5,500 rpm, in addition to a torque of 20.4 kgfm between 2,000 rpm and 3,500 rpm.

The set works with a six-speed automatic transmission, with torque converter, and front-wheel drive, a configuration used by the brand in different compact and family models.

According to the official technical data of the Nivus 1.0 TSI automatic, the model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 10 seconds with ethanol and reaches a top speed of 189 km/h.

Compared to similarly priced used compact SUVs, the combination of turbo engine, torque available at low revs, and conventional automatic transmission places the Nivus in a group of models aimed at urban and highway use.

Maintenance and usage costs depend on the unit’s history, the revisions carried out, and the state of the mechanical components, factors that should be evaluated before purchasing any pre-owned vehicle.

Fuel consumption of the used Nivus reinforces its appeal in daily use

Informed consumption based on technical foundations also helps explain the presence of the Nivus in searches for used SUVs with a focus on fuel economy and everyday use.

In a technical survey by Carros na Web for the Nivus Highline 1.0 TSI 2022, a mechanically equivalent configuration, the model records 12.1 km/l in the city and 14.2 km/l on the highway with gasoline.

Considering the 52-liter tank reported in Volkswagen’s technical specifications, these averages result in an estimated range of 629 km in urban cycle and 738 km in highway use with gasoline.

This calculation only uses the declared consumption numbers and tank capacity, without considering variations caused by traffic, maintenance, tire pressure, carried load, and driving mode.

Besides the consumption data, the Nivus has an intermediate size within the category of compact SUVs and crossovers derived from hatchback and compact sedan platforms.

The SUV-coupe is 4.266 meters long, 1.757 meters wide without mirrors, 1.493 meters high, and has a wheelbase of 2.566 meters, measurements recorded in the official technical sheet released by Volkswagen.

Trunk of 415 liters remains among the standout data

Among the capacity numbers, the trunk of 415 liters appears as one of the standout data of the used Nivus within the category.

The capacity is listed in the brand’s technical documentation and positions the SUV-coupe as an alternative for small families, drivers who frequently transport luggage, and buyers who prioritize space in the rear compartment.

Despite the coupe design visually reducing the rear height, the declared volume surpasses that of several compact hatchbacks and approaches models positioned in higher segments.

In practice, this data enhances the vehicle’s versatility for urban and highway use, especially when the buyer seeks contained external dimensions without sacrificing luggage space.

The 2.566-meter wheelbase indicates accommodation compatible with the compact SUV proposal, although the internal space varies according to the occupants’ height and the adjustment of the front seats.

For those researching a used vehicle in this price range, the relationship between ample trunk, controlled external dimensions, and turbo mechanical set often appears among the objective comparison criteria.

Safety package includes ACC and automatic braking

In the list of equipment, the Launching Edition brings driver assistance features that do not appear in all used versions of compact SUVs close to R$ 100,000.

Since its launch, the Nivus was introduced with adaptive cruise control, frontal collision alert, and autonomous emergency braking, features that expanded the offering of safety technologies in the segment.

The configuration is also associated with six airbags, stability and traction controls, hill start assist, front and rear parking sensors, rearview camera, tire pressure monitoring, and LED headlights.

These features should be individually checked in each advertised unit, as versions, optional packages, changes made by previous owners, and potential repairs can alter the configuration found in the market.

In everyday use, the ACC adjusts the speed according to the vehicle in front within the system’s limits, while autonomous braking can act in risk situations identified by the sensors.

As with any driving assistance technology, the features do not replace the driver’s attention and should operate according to traffic conditions, visibility, maintenance, and sensor functionality.

Comfort features help explain the positioning

The convenience list of the Nivus Launching Edition includes items that appear as differentiators in advertisements for pre-owned and used cars in the same price range.

The model includes automatic air conditioning, keyless entry, push-button start, wireless phone charger, multifunction steering wheel, paddle shifters, and electrically folding mirrors, depending on the configuration and condition of the unit.

Also expected among the features are rain sensor, automatic headlight activation, electrochromic interior mirror, start-stop system, and VW Play multimedia center, a feature highlighted by Volkswagen at the national launch of the Nivus.

Before purchasing, the presence and functionality of these items should be checked during inspection, especially since used cars may have replaced parts, removed accessories, or electronic systems affected by previous repairs.

As with any pre-owned car, a price close to the FIPE value does not eliminate the need to assess maintenance history, mileage, tires, inspections, bodywork, and the functioning of electronic systems.

In versions with an assistance package, it is also advisable to check sensors, windshield, modules, and possible repairs that may interfere with the calibration and operation of safety features.

The Nivus Launching Edition features a turbo engine with up to 128 hp, six-speed automatic transmission, 415-liter trunk, highway consumption of up to 14.2 km/l, and a package with ACC and automatic braking.

In the used SUV market, this combination places the special version among the options that can be compared by price, features, consumption, maintenance history, and the condition of each advertised unit.
