The Intelligent Air Conditioning System of the ID.7 Can Be Controlled via Keys Stored on the Phone, Allowing the System to Detect Who Will Drive and Change the Settings Before Entering the Vehicle.
Volkswagen unveiled its new offering in the electric car market at CES 2023, the ID.7. This electric vehicle, which will likely succeed the VW Passat, features a range of advanced technologies, including an intelligent air conditioning system that adapts to sunlight and eliminates physical buttons.
The VW ID.7 has touch sliders positioned below the 15″ main screen, which can be used for manual temperature adjustments. Additionally, the system can be operated via voice commands, allowing a rear seat passenger to request more ventilation, for example.
Volkswagen also announced that the ID.7 will be the brand’s first vehicle to include air conditioning that can respond to environmental conditions. An integrated sensor in the windshield can detect the direction of sunlight and adjust the air conditioning temperature as needed.

Furthermore, the intelligent air conditioning system of the ID.7 can be controlled via smart keys stored on the phone. This allows the system to detect who will drive and change the settings before entering the vehicle, minimizing the hassle of having to adjust the settings every time a new person takes the wheel.
Volkswagen believes that sophisticated temperature management is crucial for achieving significant reductions in energy use and, therefore, providing comfort to passengers.
The final version of the ID.7 will be displayed to the public during the second quarter of 2023. Europe and China will be the first markets to receive the vehicle, with a planned launch in the United States for 2024. Brazil, for now, is not on the list of countries where the manufacturer plans to sell the ID.7 with intelligent air conditioning. Check out the video:
Although Volkswagen has not yet disclosed the price of the electric ID.7, it is expected to serve as the VW successor for the Arteon in the North American market, which was launched in 2017 and costs US$ 43,100, about 220 thousand reais in direct conversion.
Speaking of Technology Employed by Volkswagen, the Manufacturer Announced a Minibus with a Range of 425 km with Autonomous Parking System
Volkswagen has been highly praised for another bet in the electric vehicle market, and the electric Kombi, or ID.Buzz, is an example of this. The model also comes packed with technologies: although it does not have the intelligent air conditioning system, the model features an autonomous parking system, among others.
The ID.Buzz, which was launched in May of last year and is already in pre-sale, has been very well received in Europe, but unfortunately, Brazilians will have to wait a little longer to be able to purchase one.
The forecast is that the ID.Buzz will not reach the Brazilian market until 2024, at the earliest. Still, Volkswagen has already received over 26,000 pre-orders for the model, and soon there will be around 10,000 units available at dealerships. It is clear that this unexpected demand has surprised the company, but it is proof that the market is increasingly interested in electric vehicles.
