Spy Shot Shows That the Volkswagen Nivus 2025 Will Have More Changes Than Expected. Model Should Adopt Visual Elements Found in European Cars.

Earlier this month, the Auto Esporte portal revealed projections for the Volkswagen Nivus 2025. At the time, the portal highlighted the innovations that the revamped SUV would bring to the front end.

However, on Friday (21), the same site revealed that the changes go beyond what was expected, with the Brazilian model adopting visual elements from European vehicles.

Changes to the Front and New Headlight Design

The new Nivus will feature a smaller front grille, following the style of the Virtus, with the brand logo relocated higher, which also increases security against theft of the ACC module.

The front bumper will be remodeled, excluding the fog lights. However, a spy shot taken by the site on a highway in São Paulo showed that the headlights will also undergo significant changes.

The captured images show a prototype with light camouflage, revealing that the Volkswagen Nivus 2025 will adopt sharper LED headlights, inspired by the brand’s current visual identity in Europe.

One only needs to observe the third generation of the Tiguan, the new Passat Variant, or the electric models ID.4 and ID.5 to understand the new visual direction of the Nivus.

Nivus 2025 with European Headlights

The front lighting system of the Nivus is expected to always be LED, but there is no forecast for the inclusion of the IQ Light lighting system with LED Matrix, present in models like the Taos and Polo GTS.

The lighting is expected to be maintained by LED mirrors. According to the analysis from the cited portal, despite the surprise with the new headlights, the forecasts regarding the design of the front bumper were confirmed.

The model will have a wide trapezoidal lower air intake, with horizontally slotted dividers, and two vertical cutouts on the sides, acting as false aerodynamic intakes for brake cooling.

Fog Lights? No More

The Nivus 2025 will no longer have fog lights, integrating the entire lighting system into the main headlights. The auxiliary three-part triangular unit, which debuted with the coupe SUV in 2020 and was adopted by the Virtus in 2023, will be discontinued.

At the rear, the changes will be more subtle, keeping the trunk lid and trim in glossy black with the LED taillights in the same shape. What will change is the internal arrangement of the LED lights and the bumper appliques.

No Changes to the Body Panels

There will be no changes to the body panels of the Nivus 2025: hood, fenders, roof, and doors will remain the same. Only minor adjustments to the interior finish and new wheel sets are expected. According to information from the Auto Esporte portal, there is no forecast for changes to the powertrain.

And the Versions and Engines? Do They Remain the Same?

According to the site, the Volkswagen Nivus 2025 will continue to be available in the Sense, Comfortline, and Highline 200 TSI versions, all equipped with the 1.0 turbo flex three-cylinder 12V direct injection engine, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission from Aisin.

This engine delivers 116 hp of power with gasoline and 128 hp with ethanol, with a torque of 20.4 kgfm for both fuels. Additionally, there is an expectation for the launch of the sporty GTS version, equipped with the 250 TSI 1.4 turbo flex engine with 150 hp and 25.5 kgfm of torque, also with a six-speed automatic transmission – another more luxurious version, called Exclusive, may be launched with the same engine.

When Does the Nivus 2025 Hit the Market?

The launch of the new Volkswagen Nivus is expected in the last quarter of this year, with production maintained in São Bernardo do Campo, in the interior of São Paulo. This will be the first visual update of the coupe SUV, which arrived in the Brazilian market in July 2020 and is an originally Brazilian project.

For specialists, with these updates, the Nivus 2025 promises to surprise the market, incorporating elements of European design that should attract even more consumers in Brazil. Stay tuned for news and get ready to closely check all the changes of this awaited launch.

So, reader! Would you have a Nivus at home or would you choose another SUV model? Leave your answer in the comments! Until next time!
