According to Volvo, the electric car charger points will be placed in easily accessible places, such as roadside restaurant chains. Two of them are Graal and Frango Assado, very popular in the cities where the first points will be installed.

Each charger will have 150 kW and will be accompanied by two plugs CCS2 type, that is, two electric cars can be charged at the same time, for an average time of 35 minutes.

The power of the chargers is enough to recharge up to 80% of the batteries and any car that has the same standard of plug and you can use the charger.

Swedish manufacturer's project phases

According to Volvo executives, there will be five phases of deployment of electric car charger points and this is just the first phase. This commitment by Volvo to install fast charging points is part of a project by the company to electrify mobility in Brazil.

In this first phase alone, the investment will be around R$10 million. The deployment of electric car chargers should take place between March and April 2022.

According to the director of Marketing from Volvo in Brazil, Rafael Ugo, this project aims to put an end to any gap or distrust coming from people, regarding the charging of electric cars. Volvo's announcement was made at an event commonly held in São Paulo and broadcast live on the internet.

Charging points for electric cars are part of a strategy for marketing, worldwide, according to Volvo

According to João Henrique Garbin de Oliveira, general director of operations and innovation at Volvo Car Brasil, the Swedish manufacturer made the decision that there would not be a separate plan for Brazil, as Volvo believes that the path they are currently working on is the right one. .

The executive also said that this path was decided worldwide, even if things are different in Brazil, but the idea is that the Volvo product line is the same for all countries where the brand is active. João Henrique was asked about issues of repression or 'lobby', given the scenario he is organizing in Brazil, but the executive reported that it is difficult to say whether or not there is an "anti-electric" organization, but that it is natural for manufacturers to be endowed with high technology and competitors or repressors want to boycott it.

Volvo's general director of operations and innovation in Brazil concluded his speech by saying that the manufacturer hopes to count on society and that its focus now is to accelerate the process of installing electric car charging networks in Brazil.
