WDC Networks Signs Agreement with LONGI Solar for the Brazilian Distributed Energy Market
WDC Networks, a Brazilian company focused on fiber optic telecommunications sectors, announced a partnership with LONGI, a world leader in the manufacturing of solar modules and cells, for the supply to the Brazilian distributed energy market. The partnership enables WDC to use LONGI’s photovoltaic modules in the manufacture and assembly of photovoltaic energy generators for the distributed generation market in Brazil. The products will be manufactured in the city of Extrema, Minas Gerais.
Brazilian Distributed Energy Market Stands to Gain from the Partnership
LONGI is a global giant in the segment. It provides high-efficiency products worldwide, being the most valuable solar technology company and one of the highest-grossing in the world. The Chinese company leads the ranking in the manufacture of photovoltaic modules, as well as inputs for solar panels and other clean energy products.
With WDC’s partnership with LONGI, the Brazilian market is only expected to benefit. LONGI is successful in the market, offering a guarantee of no less than 25 years.

China is building 5 cascade dams for $167 billion in Tibet — and the Motuo Project will have 70 GW of capacity, three times more than the world’s current largest power plant.
“LONGI, a global leader in the supply of solar modules and the most financially healthy company in the segment, has its HIMO-4 and HIMO-5 products recognized for their high quality and energy production. We recognize the high quality of LONGI’s solutions as a strategic partner for the manufacturing of WDC Solar generators,” said André Luiz de Paula Souza, director of the solar unit at WDC.
Gabriel Magdalon, regional director of LONGI Solar in Brazil, highlighted the quality of their products and celebrated the partnership with WDC, believing it has great potential for success.
“We joined WDC because we share leadership in our segments and a commitment to high quality. At LONGI, we have much maturity in this complex solar market, and we constantly invest in technology to always offer the best. High scale gains, excellent performance, and better performance to generate more energy with our products. We have set up a local structure to support integrators and have no doubts about the success this partnership with WDC will have,” highlighted the director.
LONGI’s products are now available in WDS’s catalog as products under the TaaS (Technology as a Service) business model, offered exclusively by the Brazilian company. This will significantly reduce costs for the production and acquisition of new products, benefiting the Brazilian distributed energy market.
The Revolusolar Foundation, focused on sustainable development in favelas through solar energy, received a donation from LONGI through WDC Networks. In total, 54 photovoltaic modules of 440W were donated. On the Twitter of the Chinese company, it was reported that a total of 30 homes in favelas in Rio de Janeiro now have solar energy.
