Xiaomi has started the pre-sale in China of the Mijia Refrigerator Pro Side-by-Side 620L, a two-door refrigerator aimed at consumers seeking greater internal capacity, quiet operation, and connected features for remote control via mobile phone.
Announced with an initial price of 2,499 yuan, equivalent to about R$ 1,840 in approximate conversion, the model is part of the Chinese brand’s line of smart appliances for the domestic market.
With a total capacity of 620 liters, the refrigerator divides the internal space between 378 liters for the fridge and 242 liters for the freezer, a configuration that, according to the manufacturer, allows storing food for up to two weeks in a family home.

Xiaomi 620-liter refrigerator bets on internal space and organization
Designed for large volume storage, the Mijia Refrigerator Pro Side-by-Side 620L organizes fresh food, frozen items, beverages, and larger containers in an internal structure divided by shelves, drawers, and compartments.
In total, Xiaomi reports that the appliance has 18 compartments, with divisions intended to separate products by type of use, temperature, and frequency of consumption in daily life.
The drawers also received structural reinforcement, according to information released by the brand, with the capacity to support up to 44 kg in the refrigerated area and up to 26 kg in the freezer compartment.
This configuration was presented by the manufacturer as a solution for families who make larger purchases and need to store frozen meats, vegetables, fruits, beverages, and ready meals in the same appliance.
On the outside, another feature reported by Xiaomi is the doors with a 90-degree opening, a characteristic that allows drawers to be fully removed even when the refrigerator is positioned next to a side wall.
Dual circulation system reduces odor mixing
The refrigerator uses an independent dual circulation system, where the fridge and freezer have their own evaporators and fans to keep the air flow separate between the two compartments.
With this separation, the manufacturer claims that the appliance reduces the possibility of odor mixing between frozen foods and fresh products, a situation that can occur in models with shared internal circulation.
It was also announced that the appliance adopts multi-directional ventilation, with air distribution planned to keep the temperature more uniform between shelves, drawers, and areas near the doors.
In large volume refrigerators, this type of circulation helps reduce internal temperature variations, especially when cold air needs to reach areas far from the main ventilation point.
Silent compressor operates with only 34 dB
Among the specifications released by Xiaomi, the noise level declared for the Mijia Refrigerator Pro Side-by-Side 620L is 34 decibels, a value reported by the manufacturer for the appliance’s operation.
This index positions the model among refrigerators with low sound emission, according to the data presented by the company, but there was no disclosure of independent comparative testing with equivalent products.
Xiaomi describes the compressor as a solution aimed at energy efficiency and silent operation, although it has not provided a direct consumption comparison with side-by-side refrigerators from other brands.
In addition to the internal capacity, the product sheet highlights the low sound emission and intelligent control as features integrated into the connected home ecosystem developed by the Chinese manufacturer.
Antibacterial technology uses silver ions inside
Inside, the refrigerator features a silver ion module, a technology used by Xiaomi to reduce odors, inhibit the proliferation of bacteria, and decrease mold formation on storage surfaces.
According to the manufacturer, the system offers an antibacterial action rate of 99.99%, in addition to purifying the air inside the refrigerator and freezer during everyday use.
The feature was described by the company as aimed at compartments that receive foods with strong smells, raw products, open packages, or items kept for longer periods inside the appliance.
As with other preservation technologies, practical effectiveness also depends on the correct use of the refrigerator, periodic cleaning, and proper storage of food in closed containers.
Integrated Wi-Fi allows control via the Mi Home app
The Mijia Refrigerator Pro Side-by-Side 620L features integrated Wi-Fi and compatibility with the Mi Home app, a platform used by Xiaomi to manage connected devices within the home.
Through the mobile phone, the user can adjust temperatures, change operating modes, and monitor refrigerator settings without needing to interact directly with the device’s physical panel.
There is also support for the Super Xiao AI assistant, with voice commands to change temperature settings and operation modes, a feature aimed at the Chinese market and Xiaomi’s local ecosystem.
This integration places the refrigerator within the brand’s line of smart appliances, which includes washing machines, air conditioners, air purifiers, and other connected equipment.
Xiaomi refrigerator launch still has no forecast for Brazil
For now, the Mijia Refrigerator Pro Side-by-Side 620L is available for pre-sale only in China, and Xiaomi has not announced an official release forecast for Brazil or other markets.
Without confirmation of arrival in the country, it is still not possible to estimate a national price, as final values would depend on importation, taxes, logistics, resale margin, and possible adaptation to local requirements.
Although the converted price is approximately R$ 1,840, this amount corresponds to the Chinese listing and does not necessarily represent the cost of the product if it were officially sold in the Brazilian market.
