In December of last year, Petrobras stated that the values offered for the onshore oil fields in Amazonas were close to US $ 1 billion and US $ 600 million. “Petrobras also informs that, when analyzing the offers from 3R Petroleum and Eneva, all value components and other conditions reflected in the proposals, including firm payments, contingent payments, and other relevant contractual conditions, are taken into consideration, so that the values published in the media do not provide a sufficient basis for comparing the offers received,” said the state company.

About Petrobras’ Polo Urucu in Amazonas
The Urucu-Coari-Manaus gas pipeline of Petrobras began operations in 2009 and has a capacity to transport 5.5 million cubic meters per day. The pipeline connects the production units located in the Arara Pole in Urucu to the city of Manaus, in the state of Amazonas.
The length of this route is 663.2 km (Urucu – Manaus stretch), in addition to a total of 139.3 km across nine branches to Coari.
The natural gas transported through this pipeline in Amazonas reaches the power plants Manauara, Tambaqui, Jaraqui, Aparecida, Mauá, Cristiano Rocha, and Ponta Negra – Urucu-Coari-Manaus. In these plants, it generates 760 MW of electric power.
