A project of R$ 384 million will recover 54.81 km of PRC-272 in Paraná, with additional lanes and three viaducts in Vale do Ivaí.
The Department of Highways of Paraná (DER/PR), linked to the Secretariat of Infrastructure and Logistics (SEIL), signed the contract for a major project of restoration on the PRC-272 highway, in the section between the municipalities of Mauá da Serra and Lidianópolis, in Vale do Ivaí. With an investment of R$ 384 million, the intervention will cover 54.81 kilometers of road and includes the application of concrete pavement, new passing lanes, and construction of three viaducts. The Service Order, a document that formally authorizes the start of the work, will be issued in the coming days.
How the project will happen: stages and deadlines
The execution is divided into two stages. In the first, lasting 10 months, the teams will work on the development of the basic and executive engineering projects — which define in detail how each intervention will be carried out.

Only after this phase will the physical services on the highway begin, with a deadline of 24 months for completion.

Removing the bark of a tree without cutting it down every 9 years, cork insulates thermally as well as fiberglass, absorbs vibrations, and resists water, and the material the world knows only as a wine stopper is being used in construction to create facades, acoustic floors, and building coverings that require zero maintenance for decades.
Concrete technique uses existing asphalt as the base of the project
The recovery of the track will use a technique called whitetopping: instead of removing the current asphalt pavement, it is maintained as a base and receives a new layer of concrete on top. This method ensures more resistance and durability to the coating without wasting the existing structure.

In addition to the restoration of the track, 31.70 km of third lanes will be implemented — additional lanes in sections with climbs or many curves, creating a safe space for overtaking without compromising the flow of other vehicles. Shoulders on both sides of the highway are also part of the project.
Viaducts, roundabouts, and safety improvements along the section
The contract also provides for a series of complementary interventions to increase safety and traffic flow. Highlights include:
- Three viaducts: one in Faxinal, one in Cruzmaltina, and the third at the junction with PR-453, which provides access to Borrazópolis
- New at-grade roundabouts, to organize the entry and exit flows along the highway
- Horizontal and vertical signage along the entire section
- Road safety devices and landscaping
- Lighting on marginal roads, roundabouts, and returns
The section covered by the project begins at the junction with BR-376, in Mauá da Serra, and ends near Porto Ubá, at the junction with PRC-466, already in the municipality of Lidianópolis.
