Petrobras Called The Unions For The Second Official Round Of Negotiations Of The Collective Labor Agreement (ACT) 2019/2020

Petrobras had its proposal rejected by oil workers and called the unions for next Thursday, August 08. The company’s proposal was rejected in 100% of the assemblies held by the category, where the oil company offered employees a salary adjustment of 1% and a reduction or exclusion of some benefits.

According to the advisory of the National Federation of Oil Workers (FNP), Petrobras was informed on July 23 about the rejection of the proposal by the representatives of the Unified Federation of Oil Workers (FUP), who are negotiating together with the FNP for the first time.

The federations demanded a new offer from the company, but the state-owned company did not inform whether it will move forward with the salary adjustment, which covers the period from September 1, 2018, to August 31, 2019.

According to the advisory of the National Federation of Oil Workers, the initial offer corresponds to only 25% of the IPCA.

“The category considers the proposal disgraceful, as it is full of cuts to rights. The company also seeks to dismantle the union organization”, stated the FNP in a note.

1st Round Of The Agreement

On July 26, leaders of the two federations of oil workers (FUP and FNP) met with executives from the state-owned company.

The representatives of the oil workers formally conveyed to the company the rejection of the category, in assemblies across the country, of the proposal to renew the collective agreement.

One of the motivations to justify the unanimous refusal, according to the federations, is the dismantling that Petrobras has been facing, along with the non-compliance of previous collective agreements, including threats of dismissal.
