In Meeting With The City Mayor, Aker Solutions Announces Installation of a Center of Excellence for Construction and Assembly
Aker Solutions has just boosted Macaé’s morale in such a way that no one would have imagined this great surprise. Company representatives in a meeting with the city mayor, Dr. Aluízio, on Thursday (17), were finalizing the terms for the installation of a construction and assembly factory. This is due to the fact that Macaé is strategically located in the logistical and economic hub of Norwegian activities in the Campos Basin, as the city already has all the offshore sector infrastructure ready.
From the perspective and judgment of the mayor, this new venture by Aker will generate around a thousand jobs, in addition to generating taxes for the city that could amount to over 24 million. According to Aker Solutions, demanding projects are in full expansion until the year 2021, which include offshore units from Petrobras, Chevron, and Statoil. These three companies will require services in the Campos Basin and Santos.
