According to media reports, the new launch is set to fill the gap left by the Fiat Palio.
New Chevrolet Celta Breaks Away from the Brand’s Visual Language and Reinvents Itself
Developed in China in partnership with Wuling, the new generation of the Chevrolet Aveo has come to attract attention in the automotive industry, leaving thousands of Brazilians hopeful that the impressive vehicle will arrive in Brazil.
Chevrolet was very brief regarding the details of the new Aveo 2024. The brand is already treating it as a 2024 line as it will only be launched next year. The company indicates that it will feature six airbags, ABS on all four wheels, seatbelt usage alert, and rear sensor among other standard items.

Chevrolet Tornado Van 2026 emerges as a compact van cheaper than many popular cars in Brazil, with a 1.5 engine, 6-speed manual transmission, 650 kg load capacity, 3.3 m³ of usable space, and fuel consumption of up to 18.1 km/l for about R$ 87,000 in tax-free conversion; an urban utility vehicle that Brazilians don’t have, but Mexico does.

Forget the basic popular car: used sedans like Passat CC, Kia Cerato, Nissan Altima, Mitsubishi Lancer, and Volvo S60 show that it’s still possible to buy more performance, comfort, and technology for less than many new compacts.
-
Used Honda Civic: 3 versions of the Japanese sedan with naturally aspirated engines of up to 155 hp, fuel consumption of up to 13.8 km/l, robust automatic transmission, and a reputation for reliable mechanics still dominate the used car market in Brazil.

Toyota Hilux becomes a ‘cargo truck’: automaker declares a new era for the pickup with greater capacity, reinforced chassis, 2.8 turbodiesel engine, raised suspension, 1,525 kg load capacity, and targets Ford Ranger Super Duty, which tows an impressive 4,500 kg.

Visually, the new generation breaks away significantly from Chevrolet’s current visual language and incorporates influences from other models. An example of this is the design of the side window that connects to the rear in an X shape, identical to the second-generation Hyundai HB20.
The front has aspects of Volkswagen with the design of the headlights and front grille resembling those of the Nivus. The chrome trim that connects the headlights to the logo further reinforces the Volkswagen character of the ‘new Chevrolet Celta’.
Especially since the design of the front bumper is identical to that of the Taigo R-Line, the sporty version of the European Nivus. At the rear, the taillights invade the trunk lid and have a horizontal design.
New ‘Chevrolet Celta’ Arrives in Mexico’s Automotive Industry
The new generation of the Chevrolet Aveo made its debut in Mexico in the first half of this year already as a 2024 model year, at which point prices, versions, standard items, and other details of the compact hatch will be revealed. In Mexico, the model is currently being sold, but in the sedan body style (with a starting price equivalent to R$ 70,8 thousand) and in an older generation than the one recently unveiled.
General Motors has previewed part of the equipment list for the hatch. The new Chevrolet Aveo 2024 will feature disc brakes on all four wheels (not available on the Onix), six airbags, rear parking sensors, and seatbelt unfastened alert, as mentioned earlier.
However, no images of the interior have been revealed by the brand, which promises that the hatch will have ample interior space and an option for full rear seat folding. The vehicle’s mechanics have also not been disclosed.
Old Generation Delivers 108 Horsepower
In the old generation of the Aveo with sedan body style, the Aveo is sold in Mexico with a 1.5 naturally aspirated engine delivering 108 horsepower and 14.4 kgfm of torque. The transmission options for the new Chevrolet Celta are a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic. The new version of Onix is also being sold in Mexico, but only in the sedan body style, priced at R$ 80,3 thousand.
Returning to the Celta, the old model beloved by Brazilians sold 1,557,202 units. As a product of Project Arara Azul, the Celta was launched in 2000 and remained in production until 2014.
During this period, it sold millions of units throughout Brazil, with the largest quantities present in the cities of São Paulo, Brasília, and Rio de Janeiro. The most successful version was the Life with two doors, from 2004 to 2011, which accounted for 19% of the total.
