ANDRITZ Group Invests in State-of-the-Art Service Center in Brazil, Providing Maintenance and Support for Pulp and Paper Mills, Creating 130 Permanent Jobs.
ANDRITZ is investing in the construction of an advanced Service Center in Brazil, which will offer maintenance and technical support for equipment in pulp and paper mills. This significant project, located in Três Lagoas, Mato Grosso do Sul, is seen as a strategic step to expand the company’s service and technical support capacity in the South American region.
As part of its expansion plans, the international technology group ANDRITZ aims to create approximately 130 new permanent jobs with this new center. The state-of-the-art facility reflects ANDRITZ’s ongoing commitment to providing innovative, high-quality solutions for its customers. Innovation and the creation of economic opportunities are at the heart of this initiative, demonstrating the positive impact that ANDRITZ has on the local industrial sector.
Strengthening Presence in Brazil
With this strategic investment, ANDRITZ significantly reinforces its operations in Brazil and expands its support to the local pulp and paper industry. The new Center will primarily serve the pulp and paper mills in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul and adjacent areas, offering a wide range of services such as repairs, reconstructions, equipment upgrades, and maintenance services. Furthermore, the Center will function as a manufacturing and distribution hub, enhancing the availability of strategic parts to meet regional demands more efficiently.

Instead of demolishing old coal warehouses, London doubled their roofs until they met in the center and created one of the most curious renovations in King’s Cross.

Fungi transform engineered wood that is impossible to recycle into low-carbon insulation panels, reduce construction waste, save energy, and create a sustainable alternative for walls, floors, and roofs.
-
Bottle caps and pine sawdust replace discarded wood in concrete molds, reduce waste, reuse household residues, and create sustainable solutions in Brazilian construction projects.

While common slabs require expensive traditional concrete and constant maintenance, tests show that fibers from discarded carpets reduce life cycle costs and divert tons of textile waste from landfills.
Structure and Sustainability Details
This new center will be built on a 30,000 m² plot, of which 6,000 m² will be allocated for the workshop and an additional 6,000 m² preserved for environmental areas. Construction is scheduled to begin in December 2024, with completion expected in the first quarter of 2026. The project will generate around 50 direct jobs and 150 indirect jobs during the construction phase. Once fully operational, the center is expected to provide over 130 permanent jobs, benefiting the local economy and strengthening ANDRITZ Group’s presence in Brazil.
Alexandre David, Senior Vice President of Pulp and Paper Services for Latin America, stated: ‘This investment marks a significant step in our efforts to provide faster and more efficient services to our customers in the region. At the same time, we are supporting local economic development.’ Três Lagoas has established itself as a strategic center in cellulose production, making it the ideal location for our new Service Center.
Commitment to Sustainability
In line with ANDRITZ’s commitment to sustainability, 20% of the land will be preserved as green area. The facility will feature photovoltaic panels for renewable energy generation and cisterns for rainwater and process water collection, ensuring efficient use of natural resources. Additionally, future plans include expanding the Center’s capacity to strengthen ANDRITZ Group’s position in the region, supporting its long-term growth strategy.
