“We are excited to work with the MODEC team again on the new Bacalhau FPSO,” commented Sarah Beddor, Reliability Engineering Manager at ARMS. “This will be our second project with MODEC on the development of an Asset Maintenance Management Philosophy.”
The four-phase project will begin with the development of an Asset Management Philosophy based on Asset Strategy Management, which ARMS described as a critical facet of continuous improvement to ensure that the culture includes the necessary foundations for ongoing success.

“This will be our second project with MODEC on the development of an Asset Maintenance Management Philosophy,” Beddor continued. “We are confident that this partnership will help strengthen MODEC’s position as a leading provider of floating production solutions for the sector and ensure maximum asset lifecycle value.”
ARMS noted that the Bacalhau project will incorporate achievements from its other project with MODEC. The company added that the latest project will integrate its Reliability Asset Strategy Management platform “OnePM,” as well as its Component Strategy Library.
ARMS will package and load the optimized reliability strategies into MODEC’s SAP Enterprise Asset Management system so that it can be quickly deployed across all assets.
The Bacalhau FPSO will be able to produce up to 220,000 barrels of crude oil per day, noted ARMS. The Bacalhau field operated by Equinor – located in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin – is expected to produce first oil in 2024.
