Gemü Technology Solutions Promise to Transform the Brazilian Sanitation Scenario
The basic sanitation scenario in Brazil is still concerning: data from the National Sanitation Information System (SNIS) in 2021 indicate that, even after three years of the approval of the New Legal Framework for Sanitation, many Brazilians still face difficulties accessing drinking water and sewage collection and treatment services. The legislation promised to revolutionize the sector, aiming to serve practically the entire Brazilian population with essential services.
Gemü: Contributing to a More Sustainable Future
While the debates around public policies continue, Gemü, a renowned industrial valve manufacturer located in São José dos Pinhais, has been gaining prominence with its innovations. It presents a series of products designed to minimize water waste and prevent leaks of substances that may be harmful to the environment.

Mateus Souza, sales leader at Gemü, emphasizes the company’s global expertise in the water and wastewater treatment segment. “We have know how and internationally certified products that are aligned with Brazil’s current needs. Based on the Sanitation Framework, we are positioned to offer suitable solutions that will complement future investments in the sector,” says Souza.
Some of the company’s innovative solutions include specialized diaphragm valves for handling particulate or corrosive fluids, such as sludge, and butterfly valves with distinct characteristics. Additionally, the company has also introduced plastic valves, ideal for the precise dosing of chemicals.
Technology and Sustainability: The Future of Industry
Within this innovation perspective, Souza highlights Gemü’s connected system, which integrates an RFID Chip, allowing the integration of the valve universe into the context of Industry 4.0. “In times where sustainability is a priority, our mission is to provide excellent products that meet this growing demand,” he adds.
These solutions are primarily aimed at companies, both public and private, operating in the basic sanitation sector, including activities related to water treatment and distribution and wastewater treatment. The differentiator of these products, according to Souza, is their high quality, low maintenance needs, and innovative features. “They ensure durability, preventing leaks or incidents that may result in environmental contamination or waste,” he emphasizes.
Ensuring the integrity of sanitation systems, avoiding failures and contaminations, is vital. “We offer solutions that guarantee reliability thanks to their unique technical characteristics and superior quality,” concludes Souza.
