New Public Competition for INSS Offers Salaries of R$ 15.1 Thousand: INSS Announcement Will Be Released Soon with Approximately 500 Opportunities. Check Below for Possible Dates and Openings at INSS.

A new competition for INSS (National Institute of Social Security) will be opened for the position of expert, and the organizing committee has already been defined. The chosen organizing committee for the INSS announcement was Cebraspe, under the exemption from bidding criteria, according to the document published on November 29, by the Federal Government’s Public Procurement Portal.

All About Openings at INSS

With the organizing committee for the INSS Competition defined, the next step is to sign the contract, which should happen in the coming days. Only then can the exact date for the INSS announcement be determined; however, the expectation is that the document will be released during December.

In total, 500 openings will be offered for the position of expert, with 250 of them for immediate filling and an additional 250 for reserve registrations, as announced by the Secretary of the General Social Security Regime, Adroaldo Portal.

To compete for the opportunity in the INSS competition, interested candidates must have a higher education degree in medicine, as well as registration with the council. The initial salary varies according to the work schedule, as follows:

  • R$ 7,585.49 for 20 hours per week;
  • R$ 11,377.24 for 30 hours per week;
  • R$ 15,169.69 for 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities of the Position Open at the INSS Competition

The Minister of Social Security, Carlos Lupi, emphasized that those approved in the competition for positions at INSS must remain for a minimum period in their initial posting, aiming to ensure that cities in need of experts have personnel to reduce the queue for services.

The intention to adopt the permanence clause dates back to 2023, when, in a hearing in the Federal Senate, Minister Carlos Lupi discussed the possibility that new appointees would need to fulfill a minimum stay in their first posting before requesting a transfer.

According to the authorization, the time between the publication of the INSS announcement and the application of the exams will be two months.

It is worth mentioning that those who are approved for the positions at INSS will be responsible for performing medical-expert activities, issuing conclusive opinions regarding work capacity, inspecting work environments, characterizing disability for social security and assistance benefits, and executing other activities defined by the regulations.

How Was the Last INSS Competition?

The last INSS announcement for experts was released in 2011, offering 1,875 openings at INSS, with 1,500 for technicians and 375 for experts. The organizing committee at that time was the Carlos Chagas Foundation (FCC).

In the case of experts, the selection process for the INSS competition included objective tests and a review of titles. The objective test had 80 questions, divided into 30 questions for general knowledge and 50 for specific knowledge.

In general knowledge, the objective test covered topics from the following subjects:

  • Portuguese language;
  • Ethics in public service;
  • Basic knowledge of constitutional law;
  • Basic knowledge of administrative law.
  • In specific knowledge:
  • General medicine;
  • Legislation regarding SUS;
  • Occupational medicine;
  • Labor legislation;
  • Social assistance legislation;
  • Social security legislation.

It is important to remember that upon being approved in a public competition, the candidate will be able to count on financial and professional stability. After about three years of work, having completed the probationary period, a public servant can only be dismissed for serious causes.
