The Payment of Bolsa Família Has Returned to Move Millions of Families Across Brazil. With the Arrival of August, the Official Calendar of the Social Program Came into Effect and Brought Not Only the Payment Dates but Also the Reinforcement on the Health and Education Rules That Ensure the Continuity of the Aid. This Set of Requirements Is Part of the Government’s Strategy to Align the Financial Benefit with Social Protection.

The payment of Bolsa Família for August began this Monday (18). According to the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Hunger Combat, the deposits follow the order of the last digit of the NIS (Social Identification Number) printed on the beneficiary’s card. The release occurs in a staggered manner in the last ten business days of each month.

In August, the payments are from the 18th to the 29th, except for NIS ending in 0, which receives on the last day. This model aims to organize payments and avoid queues at agencies and withdrawal points.

The only change occurs in December, when the calendar is moved up and all deposits are completed by the 10th, before Christmas.

In addition to the dates, the program has different types of payments. The Citizen Income (BRC) guarantees R$ 142 per person in the family. The Complementary (BCO) is an extra amount that ensures a minimum of R$ 600 per family unit. There are also additional payments: the Early Childhood (BPI) pays R$ 150 per child up to 6 years old; the Family Variable (BVF) grants R$ 50 to pregnant women and youth aged 7 to 17; and the Nourishing Variable (BVN), which starts in September, adds R$ 50 for babies up to 7 months old.

Mandatory Rules

To maintain Bolsa Família, it is necessary to comply with some requirements in the areas of health and education. These demands act as a way to encourage basic care and ensure fundamental rights.

Among the main rules are:

  • Ensure school attendance for children and adolescents aged 4 to 17 years.
  • Conduct prenatal care for pregnant women.
  • Monitor the growth and nutrition of children up to 7 years old.
  • Keep the vaccination schedule up to date according to the Ministry of Health’s calendar.

Non-compliance may result in the temporary suspension of the benefit. This occurs, for example, in cases of frequent school absences or when mandatory vaccines are not administered on time.

Importance of Monitoring

These measures are viewed by the government as essential to enhance social protection. In addition to financial support, Bolsa Família seeks to encourage children’s attendance in school, reduce dropout rates, and strengthen preventive health.

By requiring vaccinations and check-ups, the program contributes to disease control, nutritional monitoring, and improved quality of life for the families served.

In the case of pregnant women, prenatal care ensures that the mother and baby receive monitoring from the first months, reducing the risk of complications.

Attention to the Dates

The Ministry emphasizes the importance of beneficiaries keeping track of the payment calendar and the required obligations. By paying attention to the rules, it is possible to avoid blockages and ensure the continuity of financial support.

In August, more than 20 million families across the country will begin to receive the benefit. The amount, which may vary according to family composition and the additional provisions, represents an essential boost to the household budget.
