The data comes from the General Register of Employed and Unemployed (Caged), released on Friday by the Ministry of Economy.
A large part of the positive performance in 2019 is due to job creation in the services sector. This segment generated 382,525 new job positions, more than half of all jobs created during the year. Next comes commerce, with 145,475 new jobs.
The construction industry seems to be back with 71,115 new vacancies, a number almost four times higher than that recorded in 2018. The performance of the sector, which has been suffering negative results in recent years, is viewed with enthusiasm by the economic team.
The Southeast drove the positive balance in the country with the highest number of vacancies created: 318,219. The leadership was with the state of São Paulo, which generated 184,133 new positions, followed by Minas Gerais, which opened 97,720.
Espírito Santo also made the list, with over 23 thousand new jobs in 2019, the best result in 5 years!
The highest job creation was in the services sector, with the creation of 6,500 positions. Following are the segments of food services, lodging and maintenance (1,800 vacancies), education (1,600) and transportation and communication (1,600).
Meanwhile, commerce opened about 3,000 vacancies in the year, up to November. The third sector that created the most opportunities was the manufacturing industry, which had a balance of 2,500 jobs in the year.
Next are the construction industry (2,400 vacancies), agriculture (1,100), public utility industrial services (657), public administration (264), and mineral extraction industry (167).
