According to the president of the Association, Alessandro Gardemann, RenovaBio (National Biofuels Policy), which foresees the commercialization of CBIOs (Decarbonization Certificates) starting next month, will further boost the biogas industry.
Since the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Regulated The Production of Biomethane, Several Projects Have Started To Be Developed. The New Gas Market Has Also Brought A New Perspective For Biogas Companies, Favoring The Sector.
Currently, biogas accounts for less than 1% of the Brazilian energy matrix, which, according to the association, shows that there is a huge margin for growth. According to Abiogás calculations, the potential production of the fuel, interchangeable with natural gas, reaches 50.4 billion m³ per year, accounting for all produced waste. This volume would be sufficient to meet 70% of the diesel demand in the Country.
