Braskem announced the operational launch of the Brillant Future, its first ship under leasing, with an estimated value of US$ 80 million.
The vessel will be responsible for transporting ethane on the route between the United States and Mexico, as part of a broader strategy to optimize logistics and reduce costs in the transportation of chemical products.

Braskem’s Logistics Director, Silvia Migueles, emphasized the importance of this technology to improve the efficiency of chemical product transport, optimizing cargo space usage and consequently increasing the company’s competitiveness.
The Brillant Future is part of the Seas of the Future project, an initiative by Braskem aimed at reducing maritime transportation costs while ensuring greater efficiency and sustainability in operations.
The company is already planning to expand its fleet, with another ship scheduled for delivery in June of this year, following the same route between the United States and Mexico.
Sustainability and Innovation: Dual-Fuel Engine and CO₂ Reduction
Measuring 188 meters in length and with a storage capacity of 36,000 m³, the Brillant Future is a vessel that stands out for its energy efficiency.
Its dual-fuel engine, which uses bunker oil and ethane, represents a reduction of up to 40% in CO₂ emissions.
The initiative reflects Braskem’s commitment to sustainability and technological innovation.
