Brazil’s chicken exports closed the first half of 2026 at a record level, with an increase in volume and revenue. In June, shipments had a significant jump and reinforced the sector’s accumulated result.
June has strong increase compared to 2025
Considering both fresh and processed chicken meat, the country exported 482.8 thousand tons in June. The volume represents a growth of 40.6% over June 2025, when shipments totaled 343.4 thousand tons.
Revenue also rose. In the month, external sales reached US$ 985.5 million, an increase of 54.7% compared to the US$ 637 million recorded in the same period last year.

Part of this advance is linked to the low comparison base of June 2025, when temporary restrictions occurred after the only case of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza in a commercial farm in Brazil, a situation that was later overcome.
Chicken exports total US$ 5.7 billion
From January to June, chicken exports reached 2.936 million tons. The result surpasses by 12.9% the 2.6 million tons exported in the first half of 2025.
The revenue for the semester reached US$ 5.7 billion, an increase of 17% compared to the US$ 4.871 billion obtained in the same period of the previous year.
China led the destinations in June, with 50.1 thousand tons. Next came Japan, United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia, with 46.6 thousand, 46.2 thousand, and 33.1 thousand tons, respectively.
The European Union, South Africa, Mexico, South Korea, Philippines, and Singapore also appeared.
Paraná maintains leadership among states
Paraná led in June, with 199.3 thousand tons shipped. Following were Santa Catarina, with 103.3 thousand tons; Rio Grande do Sul, with 56.7 thousand; São Paulo, with 29.9 thousand; and Goiás, with 29.4 thousand tons exported.
Why These Numbers Matter
Chicken exports serve as a barometer of Brazil’s presence in the global food trade. When volume and revenue grow together, the sector demonstrates the ability to meet diverse markets and maintain production scale.
The list of destinations also shows the importance of diversified trade relations, involving Asia, the Middle East, the European Union, Africa, and North America.
For the production chain, this performance drives slaughterhouses, logistics, ports, suppliers, and exporting states. Therefore, records in the semester indicate not only larger shipments but also a greater weight of Brazilian animal protein in international supply.
