Launched in 2015 by the Distance Education Study Group (GEEaD) of CPS, the institution’s MOOC platform currently has more than 695,000 registered users. People Management is the most sought-after course, with over 100,000 participants. In second place is Basic English, with 77,000 interested individuals, followed by the Business Model Canvas and Time Management courses, with 74,000 and 66,000 registrations, respectively.
According to Rogério Teixeira, director of GEEaD, the high demand for online free courses reflects the intensified use of the internet in recent years and also the flexibility of the teaching model. Because it has a self-instructional format, where the student defines their study routine, the model is very attractive as it allows for greater autonomy in task execution and gains useful time by avoiding travel.
