Presented After Pre-Sale Began in China, the Galaxy V900 Consolidates Geely’s Strategy in the Premium Family Segment by Gathering 8 Seats, 5.36 Meters in Length, Long Range Electric System, Combined Range of 1,220 km
Geely started the pre-sale of the Galaxy V900 in China, a model with 6, 7, or 8 seats and 5.36 meters, all-electric all-wheel drive, and a combined range of 1,220 km in the CLTC cycle.
Acquisition of Volvo and New Industrial Cycle
In 2010, Geely acquired Volvo from Ford Motor Company, when the Swedish brand was facing difficulties. Since then, the operation has remained independent, supported by Chinese capital, in an arrangement that marked the group’s global strategy.
While European brands have reduced their offering of minivans, the segment is experiencing a resurgence in China. In this context, Geely presents the Galaxy V900 just a few weeks after its public debut, positioning the model at the center of the premium family market.

Dimensions and Large Size Proposal
The Galaxy V900 measures 5.36 meters in length and has a 3.20-meter wheelbase. The dimensions place it among the longest vehicles in the segment, surpassing several commercial vans in length and reinforcing its large size proposal.
Despite its size, the focus is not just on external scale. The space utilization rate reaches 91.8%, with 42 internal compartments. The proposal combines high internal volume with functional organization for multiple occupants.
Powertrain and Range
The technical basis of the V900 is a long-range electric system. A 1.5-liter turbo combustion engine acts exclusively as a generator, powering two electric motors in all-wheel drive, with a combined power of 456 hp, equivalent to 340 kW.
The battery, of up to 50 kWh supplied by CATL, allows for up to 260 kilometers in 100% electric mode in the CLTC cycle. With the fuel tank, the combined range reaches 1,220 kilometers in the same cycle.
According to Geely, the combustion engine achieves thermal efficiency of 47.26%. This figure is noted as a record and supports low consumption even with a discharged battery, considering a vehicle close to three tons.
Interior, Technology, and Configurations
The interior is offered in versions of 6, 7, and 8 seats. In the most luxurious configuration, the second row features Zero Gravity seats with spa massage, ventilation, heating, and touch screens integrated into the armrests.
The technology package includes a 15.4-inch central screen with a Qualcomm 8295P chip, a sound system with 27 speakers, and a LiDAR sensor on the roof. This set enables advanced assisted driving features.
The proposal is to transform the vehicle into a multifunctional space, described by the brand as a mobile office or family cinema. The internal experience reinforces the premium positioning and the emphasis on comfort for long trips.
Price, Pre-Sale, and Global Strategy
In China, the Galaxy V900 is available for pre-order for about 319,800 yuan at the current exchange rate. The price puts pressure on European rivals by offering superior size, technology, and capacity.
The arrival in Europe has not yet been confirmed. Still, Geely uses the Galaxy brand to accelerate international expansion. The company cited a journey of 18,000 kilometers between China and Paris as a demonstration of operational reliability.
Before the pre-sale, the brand gained attention by accommodating 42 people inside the vehicle, a feat recorded by Guinness World Records. This incident increased the visibility of the model and preceded its commercial launch.
