Advanced Technology Enables Chinese Humanoid Robot to Move Quickly and Stably in Hostile Environments, Highlighting Itself as a Significant Advance in Robotics
The Chinese company UBTech Robotics introduced a life-size humanoid robot designed for research. Named Tien Kung Xingzhe, the model costs 299,000 yuan (about US$ 45,000) and is already available for pre-order. The first deliveries are expected to occur in the second quarter.
The launch comes at a time when China is investing in the advancement of robotics, seeking to make the technology more accessible. It also happened before the mass production of the Optimus, Tesla’s humanoid robot, which is scheduled for later this year.
Updated Model for Research
The Tien Kung Xingzhe is an improved version of the Tien Kung model, launched in April of last year. Developed in partnership with the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center (X-Humanoid), the robot stands 1.7 meters tall and is designed for research applications that require resilience and stability.

Standing 1.8 meters tall, this robot gained notoriety by appearing during the Lunar New Year gala broadcast by China Central Television in January.
However, price is a factor that differentiates both models. The H1 costs 650,000 yuan (about US$ 95,000), more than double the price of the Tien Kung Xingzhe. This reinforces UBTech’s strategy of making advanced robotics more accessible.
New Humanoid Robot: Enhanced Intelligence
In addition to the new robot, the innovation center in Beijing launched the Hui Si Kai Wu platform, an artificial intelligence system aimed at robotics. The technology allows robots to have greater autonomy and make more complex decisions.
Unlike traditional models that are usually programmed for specific tasks, robots with this system can operate in various environments, such as homes, industries, and businesses. The platform enables them to understand commands, plan their execution, and dynamically adjust to obstacles.
During a demonstration, a humanoid robot equipped with the platform managed to complete a block building task by analyzing the environment and planning its movements. In another situation, the robot categorized dishes and disposed of waste correctly, adjusting its actions as needed.
The technology also demonstrated industrial applications, being used in packaging processes and logistics sorting.
Flexible and Accessible Platform
The Hui Si Kai Wu system combines vision, machine learning, motion control, and language comprehension. Users can interact with the robots through voice commands, applications, or direct controls.
In addition to making robots smarter, the platform also simplifies the development of new applications. With a low-code approach, it lowers barriers for programmers and makes it easier to create new robotic functions.
With this initiative, China reinforces its role in the development of advanced robotics, betting on accessible models and artificial intelligence to expand the use of technology.
