Citroën is about to launch its newest model, the SUV coupe Citroën Basalt, which will be produced at the Porto Real (RJ) factory, sharing the CMP (Common Modular Platform) with its “siblings” from the C3 family, the C3 hatch and the SUV C3 Aircross. With a daring design and innovative features, the Basalt promises to win over Brazilian consumers.
Although few details have been confirmed about the Coupe, observations made from spy shots suggest that the Citroën Basalt will share doors with other models from the C3 family but will feature a distinctive rear hatch to suit the SUV coupe proposals. With aerodynamic lines and a modern look, the Basalt promises to stand out in the compact SUV segment.
Efficient Engine In The New Citroën Basalt Coupe
The Citroën Basalt Coupe is expected to share its mechanical set with the SUV C3 Aircross, including the 1.0 turbo flex engine, providing 125 hp with gasoline and 130 hp with ethanol, and 20.4 kgfm of torque with both fuels. This engine is already known in other Stellantis models, such as the Fiat Pulse and the Peugeot 208, ensuring agile and efficient performance. The transmission will be a CVT simulating seven gears, providing a smooth and comfortable driving experience.
