Government of Minas Attends Event with Multinational Midea. New Factory by Chinese Company in Minas Gerais Will Have Investment of Over Half a Million Reais and Creation of 500 Job Vacancies.

The investment works for the new Midea factory, a Chinese multinational appliance company, in Pouso Alegre, are advancing vigorously, revealing the first tangible signs after the groundbreaking ceremony of the project seven months ago. At the event held on November 22, the company officially inaugurated the construction site, marking a crucial step with the presence of high-ranking executives, including Midea’s CEO in Brazil, Felipe Costa, and the State Secretary of Economic Development of Minas Gerais, Fernando Passalio. The expectation is that 500 job vacancies will be created, and the factory will be completed in 2024.

The multinational Midea has already established its presence with two factories in Brazil and is significantly advancing its project in Pouso Alegre, consolidating its contribution to the national economy.

The estimated total investment for the new facility reaches approximately R$ 600 million with the promise of generating about 500 direct job vacancies, providing an economic boost for the local community.

Midea Factory Could Be Ready as Early as 2024

The works, covering a vast area of 200,000 square meters, are expected to be completed by the year 2024.

During this period, the factory will operate with two distinct production lines: one dedicated to the manufacture of refrigerators and the other focused on laundry machine production.

This way, the investment not only solidifies Midea’s presence in the country but also signals a significant boost for the creation of new job vacancies, with a strategic vision of the new factory as a promising landmark for the local and state economic scenario.
