With a 191 hp turbodiesel engine and 4×4 traction, the JAC Hunter arrives on the Brazilian market starting at R$ 289.900

JAC Motors, Chinese brand known for its growth in the Brazilian market, announced the launch of the Hunter pickup truck, a new competitor in the mid-size pickup segment in Brazil. The Hunter was first unveiled at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show and is now available for pre-sale in the country, generating great expectations among consumers, according to the website O Tempo.

The JAC Hunter is equipped with a 2.0 turbodiesel engine, capable of delivering 191 horsepower and an impressive torque of 46,9 kgfm, features that position it competitively against established rivals such as the Ford Ranger. This performance is complemented by a 8-speed automatic transmission, together with a 4×4 traction system with reduced, ideal for tackling both urban terrain and off-road trails with confidence.

Design and competitive price

With a robust and modern design, the JAC Hunter promises to attract consumers looking for a versatile, high-performance pickup truck. The starting price, from R$ 289.900, is considered quite competitive for the segment, which can boost the brand's sales in Brazil. Furthermore, JAC Motors is investing in a wide customer support network, currently having 120 accredited workshops across the country, which brings greater confidence to future Hunter owners.

Version expansion: diesel, manual and electric

Initially launched with turbodiesel engine and automatic transmission, JAC Hunter doesn't stop there. The brand has already confirmed that it plans to expand the line of versions by the end of the year, including a version with manual transmission, catering to consumers who prefer more traditional pickup truck control. Furthermore, in a move that reflects global trends and the growing demand for sustainable vehicles, JAC Motors has announced that the Hunter will also feature an all-electric version, a bold bet for the pickup truck segment in Brazil.

This diversification of versions not only expands the options for consumers, but also places JAC Motors in an innovative position in the market, offering a complete range ranging from the traditional diesel engine to modern electric motors. This demonstrates the brand’s commitment to meeting the different needs and preferences of the Brazilian public.

Delivery of the first units

Deliveries of the first JAC Hunter units are scheduled for October, and the expectation is that the new pickup will conquer a significant share of the market. With the combination of an affordable price, robustness, performance and the promise of new versions, the Hunter has the potential to stand out as one of the main options among medium pickup trucks in Brazil.

JAC Motors' entry into the mid-size pickup truck segment with the Hunter represents an important strategic step for the brand, which has already been gaining ground in the Brazilian market with its SUVs and electric cars. Now, with Hunter, the company hopes to further consolidate its presence and compete on equal terms with giants in the automotive sector.
