Looking for a Midsize SUV with High Performance? Check Out the Ranking of the Most Powerful Engines on the Market and the Features of the Models.

The midsize SUV market in Brazil has never been so heated, and the search for a vehicle that combines space, comfort, and, above all, performance has become a priority for many consumers. In a segment dominated by versatile models, engine power is a differentiator that attracts those who desire superior performance, whether for safe overtaking on the road or for more dynamic driving in the city.

Exploring the options available in the market, it is possible to find vehicles that raise the standard of power and technology, challenging the perception that a family car needs to be conservative.

Here, we present the most powerful midsize SUVs for sale in the country, highlighting their features and the reasons they are considered true icons of strength and innovation.

1. Haval H6 PHEV19: The Hybrid That Leads in Power

At the top of the list, the Haval H6 PHEV19 surprises with a combined power of 393 horsepower and an impressive torque of 77.7 kgfm.

This midsize SUV, manufactured by GWM, is not just a vehicle but a technological revolution.

Its powertrain is a plug-in hybrid system that combines a 1.5 turbo combustion engine with two electric motors, one on the front axle and another on the rear.

The acronym “PHEV19” indicates its battery capacity of 19 kWh, which allows for a range of up to 74 km in fully electric mode.

The features of the Haval H6 PHEV19 go beyond power.

The car stands out for its sophisticated interior, filled with cutting-edge technology, including a large multimedia screen, digital instrument panel, and a full range of driving assistants.

Its modern and aerodynamic design, with flowing lines and an imposing front grille, gives the H6 a striking presence on the streets.

The ability to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds places it in the category of sports cars, while the ability to charge at home outlets makes it a sustainable and economical option for daily use.

2. BYD Song Plus: Efficiency and Power in Harmony

Right behind the leader, the BYD Song Plus positions itself as one of the most efficient and powerful options on the market.

With a plug-in hybrid engine delivering 235 horsepower and 33.7 kgfm of torque, this Chinese SUV exemplifies how technology can harmonize performance with fuel economy.

Its powertrain combines a 1.5 gasoline Atkinson cycle engine with an electric motor, ensuring a smooth and responsive drive.

The Song Plus reaches 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds, a respectable figure for a vehicle of its size.

The main attraction of the BYD Song Plus is its electric mode range, which can reach up to 50 km on a single charge, ideal for urban use.

The interior is a showcase of minimalist design and technology, featuring a rotating 12.8-inch central screen that can be used vertically or horizontally.

The high-quality finishes and generous interior space provide comfort for all passengers.

In addition, the car is equipped with a host of safety and driver assistance features, such as adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking.

3. Jeep Compass Blackhawk: Power with Sports DNA

Jeep, which already dominated the midsize SUV segment, innovated by introducing a version with a more powerful engine: the Jeep Compass Blackhawk.

Although the name may suggest a more adventurous version, this variant focuses on performance, thanks to its 2.0 turbo gasoline engine that generates 272 horsepower and 40.8 kgfm of torque.

This engine, the same used in luxury models from Stellantis, is a true performance machine, propelling the Compass from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds.

The design of the Jeep Compass Blackhawk maintains the robust and elegant identity of the brand but with unique touches that enhance its sportiness.

Glossy black details, larger wheels, and a more aggressive look give the vehicle a unique presence.

The interior offers the known comfort and technology of Jeep, with a 10.1-inch Uconnect multimedia system, digital instrument panel, and premium finishes.

The 4×4 traction ensures the off-road capability that is the brand’s signature, making the Blackhawk an SUV that balances performance, style, and adventure.

4. Chevrolet Equinox Activ: Versatility and Power with Turbo

Finally, the Chevrolet Equinox Activ shows that tradition can also be linked to power.

Equipped with a 1.5 turbo gasoline engine, this midsize SUV delivers 172 horsepower and 27.8 kgfm of torque, figures that position it among the most powerful in its segment.

The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in 9.2 seconds, an agile performance for its category, making it a great option for those looking for a family car with a touch of sportiness.

The Chevrolet Equinox Activ is the adventurous version of the lineup, with a design that includes plastics on the lower body and roof rails, as well as a robust appearance.

The interior is spacious and comfortable, with a good level of equipment and technology, such as an 8-inch multimedia central with connectivity to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Safety is one of the strong points of the Equinox, which comes equipped with a complete package of driving assistants, such as forward collision alert and lane departure warning.

The model stands out as a balanced option between performance, safety, and versatility, meeting the needs of families looking for a vehicle capable of adapting to different scenarios.

Reportagem errou a falar que o HAVAL phev19 tem dois motores elétricos um em cada eixo, na realidade quem tem dois motores elétricos é o phev34, e o GT, o 19 tem só um.
Quanto a potência são na realidade 326 CV.
