Beef: The World Record Holder
Raised in Alberta, Canada, Beef is the current holder of the Guinness World Records as the largest living cattle.
At 1.95 meters tall and weighing 1,133 kilograms, he attracts attention for his stature and docility. The owner reports that people’s reaction upon seeing him stand up is always one of surprise.
His diet includes premium alfalfa, grass, and hay, essential to maintaining his colossal structure.
Tommy: The Swiss-American Giant
In 2023, the star of the Guinness was Tommy, a Brown Swiss, originating from Switzerland. Measuring 1.87 meters and weighing 1,360 kilograms, he was raised in Massachusetts (USA) by Laurie Cuevas.
This bull’s diet combines apples, grains, hay, and plenty of water, ensuring energy and nutrition to maintain his impressive build.
Romeo: The Predecessor of Beef
Before Beef took the title, the record holder was Romeo, also of the Holstein breed.
Raised in a sanctuary in Oregon, USA, he reached 1.94 meters tall. His routine includes about 45 kilograms of hay, 7 kilograms of grains, as well as fruits like apples and bananas.
To quench his thirst, he consumes nothing less than an entire bathtub of water per day.
Hudson: The Two-Time Champion of Expointer
Brazil also stands out among the largest bulls in the world.
At Expointer 2024, held in Esteio (RS), the bull Hudson da Boa Esperança was elected the heaviest of the fair for the second consecutive year.
In 2023, he had already won with 1,410 kilograms. The following year, he exceeded his own record and reached 1,450 kilograms. Belonging to the French Limousin breed, Hudson comes from a line of champions: he is the son of the bull Duvalier and the cow 3M Xuza.
Hercules: The Catarinense Giant
Another Brazilian highlight is Hercules, registered as PVT 115 MR Falcão, of the Brahman breed.
Recognized in 2024 as the heaviest of the breed in the country, he reached 1,362 kilograms and currently weighs 1,455 kilograms.
Raised in Içara (SC), at Cabanha Talismã, Hercules is a source of pride for owner Adilor Pedro Viana, who attributes the animal’s impressive stature to genetics.
“This bull is this way because of genetics. He is the heaviest bull of this breed in Brazil and the largest among all in Santa Catarina,” emphasized the breeder.

More than record holders, the largest bulls in the world are symbols of the evolution of cattle farming.
