The Minister of the Environment and Climate Change, Marina Silva, reiterated the strengthening of the CO2 emission reduction target, highlighting that this effort includes collaborations in crucial sectors such as sustainable transport, agribusiness, deforestation, and industry. The focus is to lead by example, a commitment made through two main axes: the Ecological Transformation Plan (PTE) and the Climate Plan. This plan involves strengthening bioeconomy, promoting sustainable agri-food systems, energy transition, and circular economy. The Minister of Indigenous Peoples of Brazil, Sônia Guajajara, was also present, reaffirming the fundamental role of indigenous communities in the preservation of forest assets. Jorge Viana, president of ApexBrasil, emphasized the need for more developed countries to finance global decarbonization, urging them to adopt a production model and sustainable consumption.
Partnership and Brazilian Pavilion
The Brazil Pavilion at the event stands out with the theme ‘Paths to Ecological Transformation’, emphasizing the country’s commitment to a sustainable ecological transition. Located in the Blue Zone of the conference, the space was designed to reflect natural wealth, Brazilian diversity, and the interconnection between cultural events and discussions on mitigation of Climate Change. This innovative space hosts exhibitions and debates probing integrated solutions to achieve the zero coal target. Its realization is the result of collaboration between ApexBrasil and entities such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of the Environment, among others, and engaged sponsors in the climate agenda such as Banco do Brasil and CAIXA Econômica.
