Especially in Mato Grosso, the program fully covers the costs of the process of obtaining a driver's license, including theoretical and practical classes, exams and administrative fees. It aims to ease the pockets of eligible candidates, ensuring that the lack of resources is not an impediment to obtaining a driver's license.
Who can request a free driver's license at DETRAN
- Intended for Low Income Families: Aimed at residents of Mato Grosso registered with CadÚnico.
- Cost coverage: Includes all exams and fees, ensuring that no costs are borne by beneficiaries.
- Selection Criteria: Over 18 years old, literate and living in the state for at least one year.
DETRAN wants to deliver 10.000 driver's licenses for free in 2024
The expectation is that, in 2024, around 10 thousand people will benefit from this initiative, overcoming barriers and paving the way for a more promising future.

The registration process is simple and straightforward. Interested candidates are invited to apply via website of the State Secretariat for Social Assistance and Citizenship (Setasc). The selection process will be conducted by Setasc, and selected candidates will be informed via telephone or email, receiving all the necessary guidance to continue with the theoretical and practical steps.
This initiative represents an important step towards social inclusion, offering individuals and families the chance to overcome one of the financial obstacles in the search for employment and independence by obtaining a driver's license.
