Geely’s electric car is hardly a well-known name outside of China, but the company tends to fly under the radar. It owns Volvo Cars, Polestar, Lynk & Co, and the London Taxi Cab Company. In China, its national brand is called Geometry. This week, it unveiled the EX3, a 4-meter-long electric SUV that comes with a 37.2 kWh battery, a range of 322 km, and seating for 5 people.
Price of the Electric SUV From the Owner of Volvo Catches Consumers’ Attention
The big news, however, is the price. In the base trim, it is sold for 59,700 RMB, or 50,000 reais in direct conversion. The electric SUV features a 70 kW motor with 180 Nm of torque. It also has regenerative braking, a liquid-cooled battery pack, a digital display, and a moderate touchscreen.
The Geometry EX3 will initially be available in China through the company’s dealer network in 20 cities, but the goal is to be exported to other markets in the future, and it will likely reach the Brazilian market soon.
Battery Temperature Control
One of the standout features of Geely’s electric car is undoubtedly its state-of-the-art battery system. The manufacturer claims that the component helps keep the vehicle’s batteries at a constant 20 degrees Celsius, ensuring efficient operation in any climate conditions, regardless of whether the driver is in hot or cold locations.
The 37.23 kWh battery provides the SUV with a range of 322 km, taking into account the Chinese NEDC cycle. The manufacturer claims that it is possible to charge 80% of the Geometry’s battery in just 30 minutes of charging.
