About Carmópolis Located in The Sergipe-Alagoas Basin
Carmópolis is the largest onshore field in Brazil, with an original volume of 1.76 billion barrels of oil equivalent. It is also the oldest in Sergipe, with production starting in 1963. In 2017, after reviewing the field development plan, Petrobras estimated that the recovery factor could reach 32%
According to Petrobras’s statement, the offer includes 3,000 oil production wells, 17 oil treatment stations, one gas station in Carmópolis, and approximately 350 km of gas and oil pipelines.
In addition, the Atalaia Cluster is also among the assets, which includes the Aquatic Terminal of Aracaju (Tecarmo), a natural gas processing unit and an oil processing facility. Other assets include the Bonsucesso-Atalaia pipeline, which is 48.6 kilometers long and channels production from the concessions to Tecarmo.
Additionally, all production facilities contained within the ring-fence (set of assets) of the 11 concessions and ownership of part of the land are included.
Between January and September of this year, production from the Carmópolis Cluster was 10,000 barrels of oil per day and 73,000 cubic meters of natural gas. Petrobras is the operator of the fields, with a 100% stake.
