With Support from the Government of Minas, Tera Fertilizantes Will Invest R$ 60 Million in Expanding Its Industrial Plant in Iguatama. The Measure Is Expected to Generate Jobs and Double Fertilizer Production in the Region by 2026.
Tera Fertilizantes, a company based in Minas Gerais, announced an investment of R$ 60 million in expanding its industrial plant in the municipality of Iguatama, in the Central-West of the state.
The announcement was made this Tuesday (15), during a meeting with Governor Romeu Zema, at the Administrative City in Belo Horizonte.
The project plans to apply the total amount by 2026. Alone in 2024, the company has already invested R$ 20 million in the first phase of the expansion.

Double the Capacity and New Jobs
With the expansion, the Iguatama unit is expected to significantly increase its production capacity.
The projection is that the production of fertilizers, which should reach 70,000 tons in 2025, will reach 150,000 tons per year after the completion of the new structure.
In addition to growth in production, the initiative is expected to create new job opportunities. The expectation is that 20 more direct jobs will be created, totaling 40 positions at the unit.
The vacancies will benefit residents of the region and reinforce the municipality’s role as a fertilizer production hub.
Support from the State Government
Governor Romeu Zema emphasized the importance of the investment for the agriculture sector in Minas.
According to him, the expansion of the company strengthens the agro-industrial chain and increases rural producers’ access to high-quality inputs, with lower logistical costs.
Invest Minas, an agency linked to the State Secretariat of Economic Development, has been monitoring the project’s evolution, providing support on technical issues such as energy and environmental licensing.
History and Activities of Tera Fertilizantes
Founded in 2018 as Fertilizantes Alto Paranaíba (Fertap), the company adopted the name Tera Fertilizantes in 2021.
Focusing on the formulation, commercialization, and distribution of fertilizers, Tera stands out for its pursuit of agronomic performance, sustainability, and efficient logistics.
With the new phase in Iguatama, the company reinforces its presence in the state and expands its contribution to the economic development of the Central-Western region of Minas.
