The company believes that, with artificial intelligence, it is possible to analyze how each person sleeps during the night.
New Medical Frontiers
CEO Matteo Franceschetti revealed that Eight Sleep intends to make the Pod eligible for medical prescription. To that end, the company will submit two requests to the FDA, one to treat sleep apnea and another to assist with symptoms related to menopause.
This strategy aims to enhance the device’s credibility and position it in the healthcare sector as well. Therefore, the company wants to be seen not only as a manufacturer of luxury gadgets but also as a provider of medical solutions.
International Expansion
In addition to the medical field, Eight Sleep plans to open physical stores. Another goal is to enter the Chinese market in 2026. Co-founder Alexandra Zatarain explained in an interview with TechCrunch that the Chinese audience has shown increasing interest in prioritizing sleep and well-being.
According to her, this movement opens up opportunities for the company to bring its technology to millions of new consumers.
Target Audience in Transition
About 35% of adults in the United States report sleeping poorly. This scenario creates an expanding market for health and longevity products.
Zatarain stated that, despite the high price, the brand’s audience is no longer limited to billionaires. Among the customers are doctors, teachers, and dancers willing to invest up to US$ 3,000 in technology for better sleep.
Eight Sleep believes that sleep can become the next major field of personal innovation.
