Company in Greater ABC Invests in New Department to Fill Job Openings

The number of unemployed workers is increasing every day in Brazil, with the queue exceeding 14.1 million Brazilians without jobs and without hope. In Greater São Paulo, for example, there are more than 3.1 million, with 974 thousand in the capital alone. The pandemic caused at least two strong impacts on the path that the job market was following: the increase in professionals in the healthcare and technology fields. And the scarcity of these professionals in the job market becomes greater and more suffocating every day, especially for selection processes and headhunters.

This is the case of Sono Quality, a mattress manufacturing company located in São Bernardo do Campo (SP). In the first quarter of 2021, the company has more than 60 job openings in various areas, and in some, the hiring difficulty has already exceeded ninety days, closing the quarter with the highest vacancy rate since the beginning of the pandemic. Notably, the positions in IT (Information Technology); according to a survey by Brasscom (Brazilian Association of Information Technology and Communication Companies), the demand for IT professionals is 420 thousand people by 2024 in Brazil; sales representatives and product design for e-commerce (an important part of the brand identity to convey specific attributes and values of the products).

“One of the company’s main commitments to employees is the investment in professional training and the personal appreciation of each individual. And, every year, we increase the number of hires compared to previous years. This shows that the actions developed by the company are generating positive results,” emphasizes the CEO of Sono Quality, Ricardo Eloi.

The company has more than 50 job vacancies just in the commercial area, spread across the national territory. The states with the highest demand for job opportunities are Manaus, Bahia, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, and São Paulo. The vacancies are for sales representatives and field supervisors. The company’s marketing department is currently the one with the most opportunities, such as e-commerce coordinator (one of the most challenging for selection and hiring), digital marketing analyst, and product research and development analyst (with experience and who can also navigate international relations, as most contacts are with countries like China, Korea, and Japan).
