The Enel Group Company, Enel X, Partnered with Banco Itaú for a Pilot Project of Electric Cars
Considering that Enel X has significant expertise in the electric mobility sector, Banco Itaú has established a new partnership with the Enel Group company for an electric car sharing service in the country. The vehicles offered include the BMW i3, JAC iEV40, Jaguar I-Pace, and Nissan Leaf.

Since last Monday (June 21), residents of São Paulo could see the Vec Itaú cars, an electric car sharing service, circulating in the streets of Greater São Paulo. The system is similar to the one already provided by the bank, known as Bike Itaú bicycles.

In addition to these, the Nissan Leaf will also be part of the Itaú electric car fleet. The first charging stations will be installed at administrative units that Itaú has in São Paulo, in partnership with Enel X. The expectation is that in the second semester, the sharing service will expand and include new stations and new electric cars.

According to the Itaú Unibanco director, the world is constantly transforming, and the way people move around in cities is also changing. He states that the bank will add value through an innovative, safe, technological, and sustainable experience, also stimulating the electric car market in Brazil.
To use the vehicles, an initial fee and a cost per minute will be charged, but the prices have not yet been defined. The vehicles will also have internet connectivity to further facilitate the users’ journeys.

The bank did not disclose where Enel X intends to operate the service; however, the Enel Group company offers a range of solutions with products, accessories, and systems for recharging electric cars.
